This sub seems to be forgetting really fast how bad FIFA 19 actually was

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 09:00 AM PDT

FIFA 20 is obviously not perfect but i've been seeing people saying that FIFA 19 was actually better, i wonder if they actually played the same FIFA 19 as i did.

Everyone seems to be forgetting how bad FIFA 19 was. The (first) timed finesses, OP corners/headers, tackles that always go back to your opponent, AI defending, La Croqueta/El Tornado spam and way more bullshit. As i said, FIFA 20 also has flaws but its still miles ahead of FIFA 19. The amount of problems are considerably less, besides server delay and 1 depth dropback the game is pretty good imo. It shouldn't even be a debate if 19 was better. It was the worst FIFA ever by far.

The Sad Story of Fut Investitor

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 05:54 AM PDT

Last week i bought more than four hundred Lautaro Martinez, paying the minimum os 650, waiting for a market floating, to sell him for 800, 900 coins each.

Friday came, and nothing changes at his price. Then, i had a brilliant idea to sell all my 433 Lautaros for 750, 800 coins each.

Saturday, EA launches a new dme, and Lautaro hits 5k coins.

    The end.

    Nice week to everyone! ♥

PSA; Think twice before getting Nesta, most CB are the same if not better than him, here’s a basic example of a 50k CB.

Attackers are far too good at winning the ball

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 04:05 AM PDT

The current way the game is being played, and just how often the attacker is able to recover the ball having just lost it is quite frankly insane. It's a real issue with the game for me, and an aspect that so often removes control from the user.

Defenders have a wide variety of animations that often result in goal scoring opportunities and aren't controlled by the user. Auto lunges, heavy extra touches after winning the ball back, and the auto turn, an occasional animation whereby your defender will turn in a random direction, all often lead to major goal scoring opportunities. Manual tackling is useless. Collision tackling is the META, and the higher your pace and dribbling, the more times your players can run into the ball carrier in a short space of time to dispossess. This, for me, is a major core mechanic issue that seriously holds the game back. It makes the stand and slide tackling stats redundant. There needs to be a proper impact of low defensive stats on attackers which leads to fouls given or, EA can fix some of the animations that cause so many uncontrollable issues.

It was like this on FIFA 19, but not this bad.

Credit to EA for releasing POTM Vela before POTM Martinez expires.

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 10:52 AM PDT

I don't even have interest in MLS and these players, but for people that do, that's a really nice gesture by EA.

Whether it was intentional or not, it's nice that whoever was considering doing it, can have at leasy one weak link for chemistry.

Passing is on point this year

Icon Swaps is the most fun I've had in a while

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 08:31 AM PDT

Just wanted to say that I completely see the problems with the Icon Swaps objectives. EA are definitely trying to squeeze every cent out of us by promoting packs even more. Personally, I haven't spent a dime since Fifa 14 and this year was already starting to get dull with the only main mode to play online being FUT Rivals. Then Icon swaps was released and I saw the objectives, luckily I did a couple of sbcs and never sold any player I pulled (except if they were worth more than 5k). I did this because you never know when that non rare gold is going to be worth 10k when a specific SBC is released. I was able to make the 5 major leagues without much difficulty and it has been one of the most fun experiences. I had to get really creative with my formations, choice of players, and strategies. But there was nothing more satisfying than scoring a hat trick with my Andy Carroll or dribbling past defenders with Takashi Inui. Of course I lost games but the wins were so gratifying knowing I beat these BPL sweat teams with my 60 pace defenders. I did feel added pressure when my loan Van Dijk only had 3 games left on his loan and I needed 1 more win, but overall this promotion has rejuvenated the game for me and I look forward to future objectives they think of as long as I dont have to spend any additional money on this game.

P.S. The squad battles is going to be a dull grind to complete, but what else is new

If you're not enjoying this game - Take a step back for a while

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 04:26 PM PDT

I'm probably just rehashing something posted in this subreddit before but some people need to hear it. If you enjoy this game all power to you, if you don't enjoy this game but you still play it constantly then look after your mental health and take a step back.

I grinded FIFA 19 hard, as broken as it was I enjoyed it more than FIFA 20 (maybe I'm just burnt out idk), but it still enraged me to ridiculous levels at times. That level of stress is not good for the body or the mind. If you're not enjoying FIFA 20 then please just look after yourself and take a step back and wonder if this game really makes you happy. Whether the virtual rewards are worth the stress you voluntarily put yourself through.

This game is a psychological nightmare. Everything is designed to get you to spend more money and play an unhealthy amount of games per week to achieve what you think you want. It's easy to get sucked into that mindset. I've done it myself. But is it worth it just for packs, just for coins that will be worthless in 9 months time?

I was so angry at the game during the last team of the season cycle for example. I was enraged when I bottled my chance at elite 3 to the point where my whole body was tense and I couldn't sleep. All for items on a game that were redundant the moment I put my controller down in that last game.

If you don't enjoy it, the time you spend will be much better spent on other hobbies, things that will improve you as a person. Keep FIFA as a casual game but stay out of the cycle. It's what I'm doing this year and I'm happy with my decision. Go to the gym, play other games, work hard on your studies. As neeky as it sounds getting a good degree or a high mark in a subject you struggled in will feel far better than packing a 200k player on FIFA after hundreds of hours of sending your blood pressure through the roof. Games should be fun, take a step back and keep them that way.
