How does Fifa calculate these ratings? Cuz like my defenders are 94|92|95|90 and GK is 96.

I expected legal ramifications or at least inquests to be made as this was one of the biggest controversy's in FUT history. Imagine people resorting to buy cards from EA employees as there was no other way of obtaining them.

La Furia Roja (Late as Hell Spain WL Recap)

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:02 PM PDT

Man this was supposed to be out yesterday at the latest but a mixture of Euro fallout (both positive and negative; congrats to Italy)and life postponed things but here it is, Spain WL, which turned out to be my best performance to date. So let us begin.

    1. STARTING XI

Mix of the Classic, with a touch of the Present

So my approach with this XI was to focus on the '08-'12 Dynasty with some of the current Euro squad included. And before you ask, I did not do Busquets SBC nor did I do Pique SBC because I was not expecting to create a Spanish side. Also, Raul Albiol could have been in the side as well but since I had Laporte, he missed out as well. Now for the tactics

Defense: Pressure on Heavy Touch W4/D8

Offense: Possession W4/Players in Box 7

De Gea: Come for Crosses/Sweeper Keeper

    Llorente/Navas: Join the Attack/Overlap

    Alba: Stay Back

    Fabregas/Llorente: Man Mark/Stay Back/Cover Center

    Thiago: Man Mark/Cover Center

David Silva & Xavi: Stay Forward/Get into the Box/Free Roam

Iniesta: Stay Forward/Stay on the Edge/Free Roam

Torres: Stay Central/Get in Behind/Stay Forward

Now for Plan B (a rather effective Plan B as well):

Euro 2020 plan (with obvious subs)

Plan B tactics will be available if asked.

    2. THE WEEKEND (A.K.A wait a minute, this team is actually pretty good)

It may not look it but, the performances were actually great

So, I decided to get as many games done as I possibly could before both finals. So basically, I played my 5 placement games on Friday (went 2-3) and hit Saturday HARD. After the most amount of extra time games I've had so far, 5 penalty shootouts (3 of which I won), and a mini mental breakdown during a three match losing streak), I got Silver 1 by day's end. Got up Early Sunday, got Gold 3 with 4 games in hand, lost the next one and then got win 15 and called it. Did not have the time nor patience to push for Gold 2.

    3. Stats and Reviews

David De Gea - 7/10; 1 MOTM (At times he performed like the De Gea of old and other times you see why Unai Simon was Spain's no. 1. Fortunately, the former was the more present one)

PTG Marcos Llorente - 9/10; 1 G/2 A/ 1 MOTM (Right back or CDM, it doesn't matter where you put him the attacker doesn't have a chance. One of the most complete cards I've used in Ultimate Team since I started back in FIFA 18)

TOTY Sergio Ramos - 9/10; 1 G/3 MOTM (Did not have the coins nor the intention to do his SBC. Besides, this TOTY card worked just fine. Won every tackle, was pacy enough to kill attacks, could stop corners with his jumping, did everything asked of him)

PIM Carles Puyol - 8.5/10 (The only knock on him was pace, and even that wasn't that noticeable. Other than that, he is a mountain with excellent hair. Definitely, the bruiser of the CB pairing)

Summer Stars Jordi Alba - 9/10 (Whether he was on Stay Back or Join the Attack, he is unbelievably durable for a potential 120 minutes. Besides the obvious pace, tackling and interceptions were on point)

Record Breaker Cesc Fabregas - 7.5/10; 1 G/2 A (Sort of hard to judge because he wasn't on the pitch for the full 90, usually coming off at either halftime or earlier, but his time on the pitch wasn't wasted. He surprisingly won balls in the midfield and could kickstart attacks)

Birthday Thiago - 8/10; 4 A/ 1 MOTM (Played more of a box-to-box role but was certainly strong enough to be a CDM. Can intercept well but the passing is what makes him work)

Moments Andres Iniesta - 9.5/10; 12 G/ 15 A/ 3 MOTM (The undisputed star of this team. Floats around the pitch, passing is god-tier, can finish from nearly anywhere, and can take free kicks [he didn't make any but still felt that was important])

PIM Xavi - 9/10; 11 G/ 12 A/ 2 MOTM (The maestro. He didn't have the most assists, but his passes led to many of the chances I had. Also, a bit of a poacher of goals. Can also finesse it well)

Record Breaker David Silva - 9/10; 5 G/ 10 A/ 1 MOTM (I was surprised he could go a full 90 if I needed/wanted him to. Could win balls high up the pitch, felt fast, passing was good and could find the back of the net)

PIM Fernando Torres - 9.5/10; 34 G/ 12 A/ 16 MOTM (The only issue I had with him was the fact that would have games where he go invisible or miss easy shots. Playing like he did at Chelsea basically. Other than that, he is an assassin in front of net, bar heading. At times scored goals he had no business scoring and other times he made backlines look silly)

Summer Stars Ferran Torres - 8/10; 3 G/ 4 A (The main super sub of the team. Usually coming on for either Xavi [when in 4-2-3-1] or Thiago/David Silva [when in 4-3-3]. Provided another goal scoring threat. And he usually either got me back in the game or at least made the final score line respectable)

Birthday Adama Traore - 7/10; 4 G/ 1 A (Originally, he came on with Ferran Torres but since so many of my games ended up at penalties [something he's not particularly good at] I had to stop that. Came up clutch in some games, but other times was ineffective)

Headliner Mikel Oyarzabal - 7/10; 1 G/ 2 A (Surprisingly, he was more effective sub than Adama. Sacrifice pace for pretty much everything else and it worked. Gave me more of jolt in attack than Adama)

TOTS Jesus Navas - 8/10; 1 A (Pretty much the actual starting RB. Got up and down the pitch well. Crossing was decent, tackling good as well and provided the width I needed to attack)

Summer Stars Aymeric Laporte - 7.5/10 (Had two cameos this weekend. Once when he had to come on for Puyol who was on a Yellow and performed just a good. Another when I was trying to see out a victory and the less said about that result the better. Still, an excellent defender)

    4. VERDICT AND NEXT TEAM

Both systems I employed worked well with the players I had, which probably led to the success, and dare I say, fun I had with this side. I doubt we're getting anymore themed WL's given both the Euros and the Copa are done, and no one cares about the Gold Cup. I know for a fact I won't be doing WL this weekend because of life things so we'll just what happens in the future. So….I don't know I guess I'll leave you with this hilarious photo I saw….

    Poor poor Conor

    Until next time….

Why does FB Mendy seems much better than a lot of 90+ special cards (even the new ones)?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 11:03 AM PDT

On paper, FB Mendy is worse in virtually all stats. But in game he's much better.

So far he is performing better (FOR ME) than SS Spinazzola, SS Maehle, TOTS Tagliafico and TOTS Hernandez. And on chem 7!

Secure your FUT account! Learn from my mistakes

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:36 AM PDT

I just went through one of the worst things a FUT player can experience which is having their FUT account compromised. In my case I had all my tradeable FUT items sold and all my coins moved out of my account through the transfer market. Luckily for me EA support came in clutch and today I have recieved all my losses back but from what I've heard not everyone is so lucky and in some cases players are left with long waits for answeres, unresolved case and sometimes just a "No" from EA support saying you were responsible for what happened.

I want to leave with you some of the tips I was told by my support representitive so you can avoid having this happen to you in the future.

    • The most important thing is two step verification but here the most important thing is using verification through text instead of email or the App Authenticator. I had the App Authenticator set up previously and it did not stop someone from accessing my account

    • Set up a unique password for your EA account and Playstation/Xbox account. Use that password for those accounts only for the lowest risk of them beeing compromised. This should be a general rule whenever you set up passwords for imporant things

    • Go over your trusted devices under your EA account security settings. Make sure the devices listed there are only the ones you use regularly.

    • Set up solid security questions on your EA account and make sure the answares aren't easily optainable by doing some digging around the internet.

    • Run a regular malware scan on the computers you use to access the FUT Web App. This tip is meant for everyone but especially for those who torrent and download stuff from the internet.

    • Then last but still very important is making sure the email address you use for your account is safe and secure. Most definitely apply some of the tips from above to secure your email as well. If someone has access to your email account then most likely non of the tips above are gonna save you from that person getting onto your account

Stay safe! Most people here put a lot of time, effort and sometimes even money into this game and having it all gone when you log in to play can be devastating.

Be smart and secure your account

PC players: What are you going to do for FIFA 22, knowing that they're going to give us the "old gen" game?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 08:23 AM PDT

It looks like confirmed the fact that EA decided to "screw" the PC community by not updating FIFA 22 for us, giving to the (potencially) most powerful platform the "inferior" version of the game.

From what I've read it seems like the reason is that the minimum requirement would be "too much" for the average PC but, to me, it just seems like a excuse to save time and money for a version of the player from a "B league" community (at least it's how I felt to be treated in this last 8 years that I'm playing on PC).

Frankly I don't even know if my PC is capable of handling the new FIFA but not knowing the minimum specs I can't even be 100% if that's a good/bad move from their side, but what I'm sure is that if PC is not going to receive FIFA 22 in its full potencial then the PC community will probably fall to even a "C league" level, because we all know that they'll probably care about of their community in the order of next gen > current gen > PC.

I don't see myself spending money for a console just to play FIFA simply because I don't rate this game as "deserving" of that kind of investment, it would be another kind of discussion if I wanted to play some other game (maybe some exclusive?) but just for FIFA, at the current state of the game and its problems, I can't see myself spending 1 extra euro over the current price of the game.

What will you do? Because I'm convinced that most of the PC community will either stop playing the game or switch to console (if possible) because playing the "lesser" version will probably guarantee to keep seeing all the current problems again and again.

I'd open a pool if possible but it's disabled, so I invite anyone to comment what they'll do or (even better) upvote any comment of those who will do the same as you.
I don't care about karma but to prevent any discussion I will not add any comment to give some options to chose from :D

(sry for any bad english, not my first language :D )

    TL.DR: basically the title :D

What tactics are my enemies using?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 12:26 PM PDT

I had this problem 5 years ago when i stopped playing fifa, and now that i've returned it's worse than ever.

My oposition have super aggressive defending, but his players are almost never out of position. All my players are tight marked witch makes it impossible to pass, when i do a defender makes a tackle before my player recieves the ball.

I don't want to use these tactics I just don't understand how every enemy do the same, and whatever i try my players won't do it. I'm done with 21 and won't return for 22 just curious.

For those of you who still enjoy playing: An attacking 41212(2) tactics guide.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 05:14 AM PDT

This is the formation and tactics I've been using since December. And dare I say it, I actually somehwat enjoy the game with this.

This tactic is a very attacking 41212(2), which gives you many attacking options, both centrally and out wide. It promotes a fluid type of attacking play, and is, in my opinion, the most fun way to play this year.

The basic idea behind this formation was to allow overlapping fullbacks to shine due to the formation's narrow design. The presence of a false 9 striker adds fluidity and unpredicatability to the attack, and allows you to open up defenses even without the use of skill moves.

In its instructions, the formation is assymetrical, so keep in mind you can just flip it if it suits your team more.

Lastly I'd like to add that I'm not an elite player. I don't use skillmoves with the exception of ball rolls. I attack with the use of crosses, through balls and passing plays. So this tactic is meant to suit me, and it might not work for everyone. But I figured I'd share it anyways, since it has been effective for me throughout the game cycle, and most of all, it is incredibly fun to play with.

For those of you who play on PC, be aware of the one machine activation limit

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 02:02 AM PDT

An Idea I've had for a while.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 02:53 PM PDT

    Basically, a Loan Market.
How it would work, is you would collect Loan Tokens from stuff like Objectives, (for example there could be a separate category for those objectives).
    For example.
    - Win a Squad Battles match with 6 French players in your squad. - 10 Loan Tokens.
Loan tokens will be used in the Loan Market, where there will be category's, depending on the event of that week, for example:
    Golden Cards, TOTW, and Moments.
Every card will cost depending on their overall.
    80-83 - 5 Tokens
    84-86 - 10 Tokens
    87-90 - 15 Tokens
    91+ - 20 Tokens
The point would be so players can test out a card, without actually having to buy it.
The loaned player could be there for 5 games.
To limit the Market, you can only "Purchase" 3 loan cards a week.
You could for example search up the card the same way you search up a card on Transfer Market.
Let me know if you like it!
(Also, excuse me if I had said something wrong about FUT, I normally don't play this mode, just came up with this idea!)

    Card Saturation

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:09 AM PDT

Bear with me a bit of a long one.

I've felt this way about FUT for a few years now and I just feels it kills the progression and rewarding aspect of the game. I think there are way too many promos and way too many cards.

Now don't get me wrong, I understand the arguments for, and I think some of them are valid and some I even agree with. 1. I'd be stupid to ignore why FIFA do it - money, and cos of that it's not going to stop. 2. It drives prices down of other cards making them more obtainable. 3. Increases the variety of teams you play against. 4. Squad building is more creative and fun.

That being said, let me list why I personally don't like it.

    1. There is nothing special to me about promos anymore. I remember the hype around Black Friday and TOTY when they came around, the game was just so enjoyable. Now I can't remember a time in which there wasn't a promo, it's just taken as given now.

    2. Grinding is so much less rewarding as it takes ages to finally earn the coins to get a player, and within two weeks they're already useless because there's 5-10 other players which have been added that are better.

    3. The gameplay is worse for it. At the start of the game, the weaknesses in base cards is what makes it fun for me. You really have to tactically use players to their strengths and adopt different strategies. It just makes every game feel different.

    4. When every card has 90+ stats in 4/6 categories, none of the cards feel special. What use is having a player with 99 pace when the oppositions teams defence all have 99 pace too. Might as well give them all 50 pace, same outcome.

    5. I understand people wanting to be able to use their favourite players even if they're not the best in real life, but isn't the game meant to be semi-realistic? In what world should Marcos Acuna have a 98 card, and Pirlo's best be 93?

I know there's not right or wrong answer and is pretty subjective, but would like to hear people thoughts on whether they agree or disagree. Cheers
