Reddit Cup - Next stage Announcement!

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 06:57 AM PDT

Hey guys, the first round of the knockout stage is complete! Well done to everyone who played, there were some fantastic matches and some really close finishes! Below I will post the next fixtures of the tournament. This stage of the knockouts will be exactly the same as the stage we just finished. You have to play your opponent twice, once home and once away. Post the results on reddit, tag me and use the Reddit Cup flair.

As you are playing 2 games you have 48 hours to complete your games which means I need the results by 3pm Saturday. As always, any unplayed games will be counted as losses. At this stage of the tournament, I am not adding any players to fill spaces that opened with people dropping out, as this will give them an unfair advantage against the players who had to fight to get to this stage. Below, you will find the fixture lists for the next round.

    PC:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/FIFA/comments/fxssoh/reddit_cup_pc_semifinal_fixtures/?ref=share&ref_source=link

    Xbox:

    PS4:

Good luck with your matches guys! Message me if you have any questions.

Opened a pack that was more rare than packing a birthday player

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 09:22 AM PDT

According to the pack probabilities you have a 1.9% chance of getting a birthday player and a 99% chance of getting an 82 overall in a 100k pack. Meaning you have a 1% chance of getting a pack containing no 82s.

For the first time in my life I did what I thought was impossible, opened up my last gold 1 reward 100k pack and got no 82s and only 3 81 players, truly remarkable pack!

FUT Birthday Pope and FB Neuer at striker review

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 01:54 PM PDT

(All games in division 4 rivals, 1370 skill rating)

    Fut birthday nick pope:

    3 games - 4 goals - 1 assist -

Great presence he's massive, and he can rainbow around the oppositions defense, genuinely not bad finishin but not great, don't shoot outside of the box.

    Flashback Neuer:

    3 games - 4 goals - 3 assists

I'm being dead serious he's not a bad striker, his finishing is genuinely good and aside from being 6"4 clunky and somewhat slow, he's not bad, Him and pope made a good pair and he scored an absolute thunderbolt of a volley on his debut at striker, he's also a very good gk after 160 games.

    Overall:

These 2 were really fun to use, and I'm excite to try pope out actually playing gk, but I was shocked by their goal returns, both are a lot of fun to use, and I'd reccomend going out and getting pope to have some fun, stay safe you guys.

As the title says really aha.

Keepers playing outfield on max chem mode gain ridiculous boosted stats.

Hope this makes the game a bit more fun for some of you :)

    Stay safe everyone!

    4-3-3 (4): The 4-1-2-1-2 Killer

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 05:45 PM PDT

Awhile ago, I made an in-depth guide on the version of 4-3-3 (4) which you can find here. This is more of a follow up/update on the formation and tactics. For reference, I have played well over two thousand games this year, I was in D1 and have finished Elite 3 once, so I'm not an awful player by any means, and like to think I know the insides and outs of how this game works.

As many of you already know, 4-1-2-1-2 (and even 4-2-2-2) narrow has been a favorite among a lot of the FIFA community. As stupid as it sounds, the only way to truly counter a narrow formation is through width, and what better way than with a 4-3-3? I will dive right into the structure and exact method I set up and use this formation now. If you do not care to read the guide entirely, I will also provide a graphic with the instructions I personally use at the end.

    Setup

I always begin by talking about the most important part of the whole formation, the front 3. I tell my striker to drift wide and to get in behind. I tell my wingers to get into the box and get in behind. This is crucial, because this makes your striker and winger overlap, making them trade positions which actually really confuses the defensive AI. It drags AI controlled defenders way out of position, leaving gaps for your get in behind forwards to exploit the space created by your other players. It sounds very complex, however in game, this process flows together very smoothly which impressed me the most.

The defense is pretty bare bones, everyone stay back. Nothing much to say about this. Nonetheless, the midfield is quite interesting and important as well. For one CM, you still want a CDM player like a Kante or an Essien. He stays back. The other CM is your B2B making runs from deep and scoring clutch goals. Tell him to get in the box. Your CAM is simple, stay forward.

    Ways to Play

Pace. Shear pace. Your wingers need a ton of it. Even your striker needs it since he's going to be out on the wing as well. This is a very good counter attacking formation. Another way to play is possession, which is why this formation is very good, it's so versatile and friendly to most play styles. Your front three are always active and your B2B is always transitioning forwards and backwards always giving you an open passing lane.

    Pros

This formation perfectly counters 4-1-2-1-2 narrow. You only have one less man in midfield, however the CMs do a fantastic job of making up for it.

You're lethal on counters. This formation is absolutely devastating on a fast break, especially late on in the game.

B2B rarely ever marked. Allows for crazy runs and goals from that position.

You'll have a ton of fun. A majority of the people who have tried out my exact tactic, have said it brought the fun back into this game. This formation has everything. Pace, wing play, slow build up, wicked counters.

    Cons

Very draining on wingers. You will almost 100% need to sub off the wingers sometime during the match.

4-4-2. No formation is perfect. 4-3-3 (4) is no exception. 4-4-2 counters this formation, so I suggest a different formation to switch to whenever you play a 4-4-2.

You need to be good at defending. This formation is quite attacking, so you need to be able to defend quite well. You will have plenty of support to defend, but you still have to be aware and be able to defend properly.

    FAQ

What players work best for this formation? Your front three must have pace. You need good dribbling on them. Ideally, I recommend players who are winger type players like Mbappe at striker. Players who can dribble, shoot, kind of small, and are rapid.

How do you score? To put is simply, sprint down the line, square ball, shoot. It's a lot more complex and intricate, but this is basically the bare bones of the style of play that works best. Obviously, you don't need to counter attack every time, which I don't recommend doing, but it is a very good way to utilize this formation. Once you use it more, you'll eventually learn methods of scoring goals.

What team do you use? This is the team I use currently.

What tactics do you use? Tactics should be something that works best for you, but I personally use Balanced with 5 width and 3 depth on Defense. On Attack, I use 6 width, 6 players in box, and 2 on corners and free kicks.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this. To the people who decide to try this out, I hope you find as much fun as I did with this formation. If you have any further questions, I'd love to help answer them!

Just played someone doing Icon Swaps objectives...

    Posted: 09 Apr 2020 03:23 PM PDT

... and as every time I do right now, I just wanted to give a free win. Scored the own goal, paused... And dude just dabbed.

Went back into the game, scored the equalizer on kick-off and just passed around my CBs and keeper all game.

Finished 1-1, and actually felt better to get the draw than a win, just to show that a**hole I didn't care about the win at all

Thinking about it, that's actually pretty mad how a celebration can change everything (and most importantly, trigger anger, rage and/or motivation)
