    STORY:

    About 8 days ago I found myself awake, in bed, on this sub at 4am (quarantine lyfe) when i stumbled upon a post mentioning the 3142.

    Now I didn't even know this formation existed (although I do recall months ago playing a really weird looking formation in game once), however I was intrigued since I used to play the 352 (until feb when I started playing the 442). Let me just say I cannot stand the 4231, its unimaginative and boring safe fifa, while this is the opposite.

    Anyways the guy mentions to watch RunTheFutMarket's video on it for tactics as he also got elite 1 with it (It's the video on Fut Birthday Saint Maximin) so I do and I instantly adjust the tactics on my phone for my squad and am actually looking forward to play the next day.

    I don't recall what my Weekend League record was at that point but I believe it was 7-1, anyways I blow past the first 5-6 guys I played and ended up going 23-7, which to me was nothing insane as I have gotten elite 3 with the 442 multiple times and (shudders) the 4231 back in October, however I seldom play the full weekend league (played the full thing about 8 times) usually I stop at gold 3 (which usually takes me 16 games or so to get).

    During the next week I go back to the 442 in Div 1 Rivals and I find games really defensive, sweaty and boring, so I switch back to the 3142 and am back to crushing people.

    Stupidly, I go into this weekend league running the 442, and then I lose my 5th game on pens to an inferior opponent (he ended up silver 2..) and am at a record of 4-1.

    So I started playing the 3142 again (sometimes switching to 4231 with 10 or so min left to hold the lead, fight fire with fire right?) and well... I ended up 27-2, at one point winning 15 games in a row! A lot of the time I would comfortably win my games as well with 60% possession.

    TACTICS:

    A slightly changed version of RTFM's tactics:

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    GK and CBs: Everything as Normal

    CDM: Cut passing lanes, ttay central, stay back on attacking

    LM: Get in behind, come back on defense, stay wide

    RM: Everything as normal

    R/LCM: Everything as normal, but free roam

    LST: Stay central, false nine, rest on normal

    RST: Stay central, get in behind, rest on normal

    TEAM:

    Team

    Only Mbappe and Di Maria are bought with coins the rest are untradeable, no fifa points used!

    In game

    RECOMMENDATIONS/PLAY STYLE:

    CBs: High Pace, Passing, Physical and Defending

    Work Rates: As long it isn't High/low you should be fine, Low/high obv preferred.

    Examples: RTTF Diego Carlos, HL Varane, Moments Ramos, VVD, Cannavaro, Carlos Alberto, Joe Gomez, FB Hernandez, FS Kamara, SS Kondogbia, Storyline Akanji, Milestone Gabrielesen, FB Sarr, Flashback David Luiz

    CDM: high stamina, pace, passing, def and physical

    Work Rates: High/High, Medium/High preferred

    Examples: SS/Futmas Ferland Mendy, SS Mbabu, FS Dominguez, Moments Kimmich, Kante, SS Renato Sanches, Toty De Jong

    RM/LM: High stamina, pace and dribbling, decent passing and shooting

    Work Rates: High/medium or High/High for LM, High/medium or High/low for RM

    Examples: There's literally tons of these, FS Dan James, RTTF Kent, PIM Overmaars, Storyline Kalu etc..

    LCM: High Stamina, More attacking CM, still decent defending, decent pace, well rounded

    Work Rates: Preferably High/Medium, might be able to use High/High

    Examples: Pogba, Seedorf, Storyline Aourar, Prime Nedved, Copa Fuenzalida, TOTY De bruyne, Moments Ziyech, Bruno Fernandes, Copa Rojas, SS Atal, Storlyine Perisic

    RCM: High Stamina, well rounded, focus on defending with still decent shooting

    Workrates: High/High Preferred, High/Medium may work.

    Examples: SS Kimmich, HL Nainggolan, SS Acuna, SS Marcelo, Storyline Fred, Scream Firmino, Flashback Vidal

    LST: High pace, passing, dribbling (Five Star skills if possible), shooting, stamina

    Workrates: high/medium or high/low

    Examples: Base Eusebio, Neymar, FB Rashford, FB Correa, Mane, Cryuff, Kent, TOTY Messi, FB Hazard, SS Mahrez

    RST: High Pace, shooting (Outside foot trait if possible), dribbling, weakfoot

    Workrates: High/medium or high/low

    Examples: Ben Yedder, POTM Werner, CR7, FB Rodrigo, Mbappe, FB Lasagna, FB Lozano, FS Greenwood, Dembele, SS Ribery

    Play Style Tips:

    YOU MUST MANUALLY DEFEND. With 8 depth you try and stop their attack before it even starts, use your bulldog cdm and cm's to try and get the ball, switch to the CB for tackles but be cautious of leaving your defense open.

    The key to manually defending is timing your tackles, Eaids will still happen sometimes and they will get the ball back but there is nothing more satisfying than getting a clean tackle on a CDM pass lane jockey noob.

    When defending your LM will act as a LWB of sorts and if your RCM has high/high he will act almost as another CDM until your LCM and RM track back.

    When attacking you should play calm build up play (do not hold sprint) and do not be afraid to pass to one of your CB's, since you will most likely play against a 4231, your 5 midfielders and LST (as false nine) should provide you an opening vs their CDMs eventually.

    If your opponent covers passing lanes dribble more before you pass, also don't be afraid to pass the ball around if you are winning and they are still refusing to press (why should you let them counter you?).

    The LM and RM act as almost an overlap to the CM's so there are plenty of opportunities to play a ball square into the box into either the strikers or CM's for an easy finish.

    You can still counter when the opportunity presents itself since your two strikers will be up top when defending, also I have found myself able to play a long through ball from RCB to RM or LCB to LM often for a quick break.

    In terms of subs I would usually sub my wingers out around 60-70 min every game and sometimes my RST if I need a goal or one of CM's if I need to hold the lead.

    Always finish near post, I probably only scored 6-8 non near post goals the whole weekend league (sad but that's how EA made this years game), learn to beat the keeper via ball roll, switch to a defensive formation if you really need to hold a lead and switch to team press to get a goal back if time is running out.

    Get as many 5* skills or weakfoot players that you can, a scoop turn and the ability to pass/shoot on either foot is so helpful in creating space.

    I probably played against 4231 20 times and had no trouble each time just have to be patient and stay calm!

    TLDR;

    Pace, high stamina, high depth, manually defend, near post, be calm & LB RB for celebration (instant win)

    Yesterday was sitting on 2.3 mil , bought FB Hazard and i felt instant regret. Playing full untradeable all year building the coins and then i am not spending them. I know its weird and stupid but ive work so hard dont want to lose any😂 . Someone else?

    As the title says there seems to be some sort of power imbalance when you play lower rated teams as your 99 pace Sane seems to be getting caught by Militao with a guardian, that 91 Oblak you have to rely on is getting shown up by 82 Areola, something about playing base Ben Yedder gets me more worried than playing Ronaldo or Messi.

    After 2 months of being unassigned I was finally able to open my packs&picks - here are the results

    I fell into the hype during Future Stars promo and decided to go all-in unassigned expecting quick profit with TOTW SBC. Didnt happen and I somehow survived the urge of selling with a loss and stayed calm until last friday. As a sideeffect I accumulated 14 champs picks and over 200 packs I wasnt able to open earlier.

    Was slowly opening throughout the weekend (my wife now loves me a bit less) and did notes so posting here if someone likes to read things like that.

    Before that my best pull was NIF Modric in 6 months of serious grind (and 86 Varane from picks) so you can have the scale :)

    Too much of a hassle and you cant really play properly during that.
