    How I climbed from gold 1 to elite finishes 3 weeks in a row

    Only played about 5 futchamps this year before lockdown but got gold 1 every single week. Since then have got elite finishes 3 weeks in a row after a mentality change. (Also a lot more practice thanks to lockdown) Here's my tips:

    1. Defence: Find a back 4 you like and stick to it. CONCENTRATE in every minute of every match, treat every goal you concede like an insult even if you're winning 4-0. How dare they score on you. You can't lose if you don't concede. Once you get good at this you'll become confident in your defence. Anyone can score a goal but not everyone can shut a team out like you can.
    2. Stay Calm: If you go behind early don't get angry, just work your way into the game. If your players are delayed or clumsy, stay calm, play safe eventually you'll get a chance, make sure you take it. Remember it only takes one goal to change a game. Combine this mentality with the above defensive mentality and you'll win more matches.
    3. Forget stats and chemistry: Only use players you like that suit your system. You've just got TOTS Aubameyang from player picks and Henry from your prime icon pack. They're worth 2 million each and have crazy stats!?!? Lucky you. Give them a chance but if they stumble about the place with the balance of a newborn giraffe you have to cut them loose. Also don't be afraid to use players on 7 chemistry, even 5 chemistry if they fit the way you play. Chemistry only gives chemistry style boosts. In my opinion, if a player is good they're good and a 5 chemistry tried and tested flashback Vidal is better than 90% of 10 chemistry centre midfielders you'll ever try because Vidal's base card is very good this year. Same applies to De Jong, Ben Yedder, Neymar, Baby Ferdinand, Ramos etc. it's not crazy stats that makes them so good, it's their base player model. Their special card stat boosts then make them even better.
    4. Be a ruthless manager: This carries on from the above point. If a player is not performing, forget their stats, forget how much they're worth (especially if untradable) and get them out! You want players who will bleed for the badge. This weekend I had a Goretzka who scored 10 goals in 28 games from cdm but did nothing but annoy me all weekend with missed interceptions, slow sloppy passes and off balance shots. His wastefulness basically cost me when i was 21-6, meaning i had to win my last two games to get elite 3. So i finally had enough and dropped him for my trusty Kimmich. Kimmich changes everything and i win the final 2 games easy. He might score a fraction of the goals Goretzka does, but he never misses a pass, tackle or interception and doesn't get caught in possession, which brings us back around to our first point, Defence. If somebody is a defensive liability, get them out of the team. Likewise, if a player is sloppy in attack, get them out. You need players you can trust. Not only do turnovers in possession mean less goals for you, it also means more counter attacks for the opponent and in turn more goals conceded.
    5. Adaptable systems: Finally, have players that can seamlessly transition between different tactical setups. For example, i start in 4231, with Mahrez in cam, Vardy in ram. If i'm struggling in a match i'll switch to 442 with Mahrez rm and Vardy st. If wing play isn't working i'll go 41212 narrow and put Vardy in cm before i sub him off for a proper cm if i notice this system start to work. I also have a 352 setup if i feel I need a mixture of width and an overload down the middle against a deep defence. Basically don't be afraid to analyse your opponent and switch tactics to help you gain an advantage. My 41212 narrow, with overlapping full backs won me at least 5 come from behind victories this weekend.

    Buying players for upgrade SBC's is so time consuming looking through page after page of non rare's to find the odd rare player. Please allow us to search for players we actually want and need for the SBC's that you create!

    Base Blanc is an absolute behemoth on the field. Anyone else that took him from swaps knows what I'm talking about here. I'd heard the rumours but i thought it was just exaggeration. But everything they say about Blanc is true.

    I've tried to replace that lanky son of a bitch but he keeps coming back each weekend. I've tried numerous other CDMs to partner Kante but no one comes close to Blanc the tank. Stats mean nothing to Blanc, he laughs at your totssf cards, laughs at them from above. He glides like Pegasus, he destroys anyone that gets in his way like iron mike in his prime. His passing isn't great but honestly, who the fuck cares when you are an 8ft giant from the land that time forgot.
