    Looking on the xbox market right now, there's currently 2 PIM Gullits, 3 PIM Bests, 6 PIM Rivaldos, 9 PIM Makeleles, 0 PIM R9s and 6 PIM Rauls. Now in that selection you have a mix on the level of icons, the common theme is all are rare and overpriced for the simple reason that the supply is so low. Now they're not the only cards that have a low drop rate, if you look for cards like TOTS CR7 or Messi you can see there aren't many on the market, but the difference is people want icons for different reasons. The main appeal of icons are kind of self explanatory, they're iconic, people love playing with them and often will be willing to pay whatever they have to get the chance.

    So even with the lower tier icons people are more than happy to pay an inflated price to get to play with perhaps their favorite player even if there are 'better' cards in the game for a cheaper price. The thing is in recent years the icon sbcs acted as a ballast on market prices for the same cards, obviously no one is going to pay 2 mill for a card they could get the same card for 1.7 mill through an sbc. I know if you bought it off the market you could sell it on but as I said above people often want icons because they really want that player regardless of their actual in game value. It's just the joy of getting to play with an icon, so that argument isn't the same as it would be for say a POTM Messi sbc or something where you are really paying for the card quality, basically as I said it doesn't have that unique appeal.

    Now this year individual icon sbcs are gone and lets assume next year it'll be the same. I get why EA did it because having icon card requirements meant you couldn't get any icon for less than 500k (the trouble is with things like the POTM Messi sbcs it's obvious you can make sbcs expensive in other ways but lets give them the benefit of the doubt with that). The trouble is they didn't increase the drop rate of icons, they're just as rare as ever but now without the ballast of the icon sbcs to anchor their price. So really they can be valued at whatever people like, market forces do play a part but as anyone who understands basic economics, if the demand outweighs the supply the price won't come down. So technically EA have made icons 'more accessible' generally as you don't have that 500k base mark for any icon card but the artificial rarity of icons means their price is vastly inflated of what it should be. I just think EA need to realise they have fucked up the icon market by just removing icon sbcs and doing nothing else to change their drop rate. If you had icons coming onto the market at the same rate even most high level TOTS cards do the prices would settle at much more reasonable price. Expensive enough to represent their value but not rare enough that it's inflated through that way. I'm not saying icons shouldn't be dropping all the time, I'm just saying they should drop enough for their prices to be more representative of the actual card value.

    Btw if you're reluctant to do Delaney because you have so many good midfielders (like i was) you won't regret it, trust me. Guy is honestly insane, has such a presence in the midfield and wins everything, he's honestly much better than Pogba
