    Introducing the new Reddit Cup!

    Hey guys!

    As Fifa is coming to a close, I think its about time to have a bit of fun! I'm hosting a Reddit based tournament, so I'm nicking the name and calling this the Reddit Cup 2!

    The last one was a lot of fun, so I am hoping to make this one better! There were a few complaints last time, so in order to try and iron them out I am going to put in a few rules.

    I know that this sub stretches across the world, but unfortunately EAs shitty servers don't! Last time there were a lot of people commenting on how bad the connection was when they live in North America and their opponent is in Australia.

    So this tournament is for Europe only - sorry everyone else! Nothing personal

    PS4 slots are now full, feel free to still sign up incase anyone drops out. But for now, PS4 is full

    Im sure there have been many posts like this. But im sick of this man.

    Defending is simply non-existent in this game. Everyone knows that. Good defense is not rewarded and you are literally punished for good tackling through rebounds or some other bullshit.

    But thats not what this post is talking about. A fucking winger should not be able to intercept passes while my TOTY De Ligt simply stares at a ball wave past him. And its not just with Vinicius of course but thats just something I noticed this WL. It's horrible how the attackers make the most impossible tackles/deflections (Mostly AI triggered) When your elite defenders can't get a single stop.

    Don't wanna reward me for my manual defending? Fine. But don't expect me to be okay with penalties given up solely by the AI! Seriously, the fact that you can completely not press the tackle button and still give away a pen is just insane.

    I'm not even going to talk about strength in this game when attempting to win 50/50s because its so dead, but you get the point.

    Fix up defending. Make defense rewarding. Thats all I ask for Fifa 21. Oh and yeah don't worry guys my expectations are already low.

    I'm good at fifa, not brilliant. Not a psychopath with skill moves, haven't logged in to play a game since April. Done a few of the SBCs out of habit, have a 190 squad. Few summer heat players, a TOTS, couple of flashbacks.

    I cannot play Rivals, it's unplayable. Every single player that I've played since coming back (like 3/4 days ago) has at the minimum a 194 squad, if not a 195, or 196. Memorised every skill move, somehow still playing on 1 depth, drop back. Top tier prime moments icons everywhere I look, 99 rated players coming out the wazoo. In Div 4.

    Out of maybe 20 games, I think I've won 3. Not even in the same ballpark, losing 7-1, 9-3, 12-4, 5-0, etc etc.

    Only started playing again because I'd seen a lot of stuff about how fun it is right now, but for who?

    I'm not even mad, its just boring. I was looking forward to trying out some new players, against some varied teams, but every squad I play against is 90% compromised of the same 7/8 players. Guess I'm too far behind the power curve, it's just a shame.

    Wholesome weekend league content

    Sniped this beast for 30k. Played him on 8 chem (All he needs) with a sniper.

    21 games. 44 goals. 7 assists. All div 5.

    Pace. 7/10. Yes he may be slow. His low low work rate means he chills near your opponents box anyway so doesn't have to run far. Solid.

    Dribbling. 8/10. He doesn't get knocked over with his mad balance and strength. Ball control is decent and composure is good.

    Shooting. 9/10. May not be able to bang a long shot but he might be one of the most consistent finishers I've used. Finesse? Check. Power Shot? Check. Chip? Check.

    Defending. N/A. He's a striker. Made some decent tackles to win it back after being tackled though.

    Passing. 7/10. He's a target man striker. Doesn't need to pass much. Short passing feels better than 67 though.

    Physical. 20/10. Fucking outrageous. Makes this card the GOAT. He can't be outmuscled due to insane strength and great body type (Akinfenwa). Stamina is more than enough.

    Overall 9/10. Great big man striker if you like those players.

    Value. 10/10. It's Akinfenwa. He'd be good value for 100k.

    Absolute beast.

    Changed back to my main team and didn't have nearly as much fun. Akinfenwa forever.

    As I was playing Div rivals this morning I realised how much fun I wasn't having just trying to play a somewhat realistic version of football. As I tried to pass through gaps which seemed like a good option it was immediately intercepted by some overpowered defensive Cm, Cdm, even attacking player at times, whether manually controlled or AI assisted.

    When I'm baring down on goal the pitch seems to shrink as there is no space to maneuver properly without being crowded out instantly, I remember one instance where the opposition was controlling a player nowhere near the player I was controlling yet the AI on it's own started surrounding me to close out space, and pretty effectively I might add.

    This is not acceptable at all. I remember someone posted that they should consider making the field bigger so you would have more space which I think is a good idea, but I believe one of the main problem is having a game that plays on its own to assist casual players, plus in regards to FUT having boosted stats and Chemistry Styles which the game wasn't balanced for, plus the engine, there is something about this engine that doesn't feel right for playing football for me.

    There are so many issues with this game and it's just really frustrating at times. As much as I love Football I think this is it for me. If I can't play a decent version of what football should be or feel like why should I bother buying the game? EA makes too much money from this game for it to be in this state.

    Go on, use some of that money you earn to hire more competent workers and install more and better servers so everyone can have a better online experience. I'll be waiting on that day, if it ever comes.
