One reason i'm excited for FIFA 21

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 05:07 PM PDT

No OP cards. Now you might say: "What is this goof talking about, there are always OP cards".

Yes, you are correct. But those cards are a different kind of OP.

They are realistically OP. I like having a striker with 90 pace and 84 shooting.

I don't like almost EVERY player on the pitch having 85+ Pace and perfect stats everywhere.

I always notice how much i prefer the gameplay in the first few months. It actually feels somewhat (its still arcadey obviously) like FOOTBALL.

I keep going back to FIFA 20 because i'm hyped for the new game, but it's barely fun playing with these high end meta cards, in my opinion.

Even someone like Lewandowski misses the goal, makes mistakes etc, no one is perfect.

And i wish the game would go back to it's roots in this context.

How to make FUT more FUN - An in-depth analysis

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 11:32 AM PDT

Hello r/FIFA, I hope you're enjoying the hype for FIFA 21. I've personally spent the last week or so reminiscing about the good and bad about past years of the game, and have decided to put my thoughts into words.

This is an analysis of the structure, content, and game modes of FUT and what could improve them, in which I explain what, I think, are core issues of most areas of the game, and what improvements EA could make to ultimately make FUT more fun.

I give detailed explanations as to what I think the main problems are and suggest reasonable solutions to them, as well as stating my hopes for the future of FIFA.

Click here to check out the full version as a Google Doc:

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZTkz0_rcwplgCLeWhmw-ktupxz4ZXoSGH1hfI-V-uxQ/edit?usp=sharing

If you, understandably, don't have time to read 25 pages of FUT analysis, this post will serve as the TLDR version of the original. I'll be covering my main problems and solutions that would have the biggest impact on the game in short bullet points, so that you all get an idea of what my thoughts are.

Please keep in mind that these suggestions are all subjective things that you don't have to agree with.

So don't hesitate to comment on this post or DM me with your reactions/opinions on what I've said, whether you agree, disagree, have more Ideas or just wanna chat as I'm open to having further discussions on what we want to change inside the game.

Also, feel free to share the post or the Google Doc to other people who might be interested in reading about concept changes and opinions regarding our favourite game mode.

Lastly. I'd also like to stress that I'm making this post with good intentions and I'm not all critical about the game. Even though the game is far from perfect, I'm still definitely a huge fan of what EA have created with FIFA.

Anyway, these are the improvements to FUT which I would make in order to solve it's biggest problems:

    Rework the competitive schedule

    • Remove the need to wait for the ability to play competitive matches by either:

      • Separating Champs and Rivals completely, having Rivals as a completely separate, purely competitive mode open 24/7 or
      • Merging both modes, creating one always open competitive mode that resets every week

-> People would stop taking breaks from gameplay for 4 days between Monday and Thursday

    Bring back non-scheduled rewards

    • Introduce more rewards that aren't tied to strict schedules, but instead get distributed instantly whenever the player completes a task or wins a competition

      • Those would give an incentive to play in between 'Rewards Days'
      • A good way to do this is to add something like a tournament mode that rewards you whenever you decide to play

-> Progress wouldn't be tied to certain days of the week

    Casual game modes

    • Give us an alternative to competitive gameplay with open matchmaking, attractive rewards and creative entry requirements

      • Again, tournaments would work well with this
      • I hope Live FUT friendlies will help fill this casual hole in FUT 21

Division Rivals: less objectives, more competition, better rewards

    • Get those objectives out of rivals that restrict the type of team you use or the way you play, they disrupt the actual competition
    • Generally improve rewards and make the gap between each Rank and Division bigger, there's not enough incentive to rank up atm

-> Create a more pure competitive experience

Balance rewards across game modes and between menus/gameplay

    • Make sure all rewards reflect the effort put into getting them
    • Remove the menu-gameplay-imbalance regarding available rewards in both areas of the game

      • Make actually playing the game reward you more or
      • playing the menus reward you less

    Season Objectives overhaul

Completely removing the time walls that limit XP collection at a time will be unlikely, but EA could still:

    • Give us more ways to earn XP outside of set objectives

      • Most importantly, by playing games, but also through all other aspects of the game (SBCs, trading, packs, etc.)
      • Balance it out, EA will have their plans regarding what should be rewarded with how much
    • Give us a use for leftover XP, by either

      • Adding more extra levels to Season Rewards after the main prize (after level 30)
      • Introducing milestones that track XP collection across different seasons
    • Make recurring types of objectives more diversified

      • The same daily objectives or Icon Swaps got really boring in FIFA 20

    Give us overwhelming milestones

    • Just create way more content here
    • Make us play and participate in every aspect of the game and track those things via milestones

    Draft overhaul

    • Fix the player pool by making it bigger, more balanced, and overall more random
    • Fix the pick categories, make the best players appear in the best tier etc.
    • Balance out rewards, make them less random

And since Draft has mostly been the same ever since it was added,

    • Why not experiment with new types of drafts, with different rules, players and rewards?

The power curve, special cards, regular cards becoming obsolete

It's highly unlikely EA will want to slow down on releasing more and more boosted cards, but as it stands,

    • Regular cards and old special cards become useless rather quickly
    • Give them more uses outside of SBC fodder, like requiring all different types of cards in order to complete certain objectives or enter certain competitions.

(Think of entry requirements to tournaments back in the day) Make this a regular, constant thing.

    Nerf/Remove chemistry styles

I know this topic is highly debated, but remember, I'm just stating my own opinion here:

    • High stats (90+) lose their value, since they cap at 99

      • Good players lose their advantage over worse players
      • Removes the incentive to keep upgrading to better cards
    • Players lose their individuality

      • While 'making non-meta-players more meta' can offer variety in the amount of players that are regularly used,
      • It also removes a different kind of variety regarding what the players will feel like, which I would prefer to have more of
    • Certain players have a nonsensical advantage over others because their combinations of 'bad stats' are more easily fixed by chem styles than others

      • Example: Multiple chem styles boost both Agility and Finishing, however

improving Balance and Shot power together is impossible.

    -> Seems pretty unreasonable

If after reading that, you're interested in understanding where I'm coming from regarding one of these improvements I mentioned, please consider reading through the related section of the linked Google Doc.

You'll also find a lot more of my opinions on other aspects of FUT.

If you've actually taken the time to read and understand my thoughts, thank you, I really appreciate it, since it took a long time for me to get them written into words.

But anyway, that's it from me, happy waiting for FIFA 21, and I'll see you on the virtual pitches of early access next week!

Could we get a new Fifa Street?

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 03:37 PM PDT

I would buy it and I'm not getting Fifa 21 because of a boring/cringe Volta mode.

You can make a Fifa Street like FS 1 - 3 with gamebrakers and sick tricks but add like a regular mode which is more like FS4 and Volta.

I play mostly manual anways, but now decided to try shooting aswell. I scored like 10 headers in 7 online seasons matches. Much better than assisted.

How will pre-season rewards work on fifa 21?

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:54 AM PDT

I did most of the sbcs and objectives for the FUT 21 rewards, but I'm not sure if I'll get the game as soon as it drops. I've seen some posts saying the rewards will be available until October or something like that. Does that mean I have to get the game before that? Or will the rewards still be available when I log in, if I buy the game later on?

    First Time PC FUT Player

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 06:15 PM PDT

Switching over from Xbox to PC due to Xbox dying on me and not wanted to spend the money for next gen consoles just to play FIFA. I just have a few questions and feel free to drop any knowledge on me from past pc experience.

    1. Is hacking a real issue? What types of hacks have been seen out there?
    2. Are certain high rated cards really extinct on the market? If so, is it just early on or even throughout the whole year certain players aren't on the market?

Also, any other advice/tips/knowledge you want to drop to prepare me for the switch over I'd appreciate it!

FIFA21 supported languages in Spain, HELP!

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 05:49 PM PDT

I would like to preorder FIFA 21, but I'm currently in Spain and I'm planning to buy it here.

However, I'm wondering if the Italian language and commentary will be available if I buy the game in Spain?

I researched a lot and I don't seem to find an answer. I have written to EA but no signs of life.

    Really need my spaghetti commentary!

Anyone still playing FIFA 20 and getting disconnect issues?

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 03:37 PM PDT

I've played 2000+ games and have basically never disconnected from Rivals, but playing this past week I've disconnected from 2 out of 4 games. Internet was fine, I closed the game and hopped back in, but what the hell EA?

Final day for SBCs. Thoughts on doing 94+ TOTS or Icon Moments?

    Posted: 24 Sep 2020 10:47 AM PDT

Less than 24 hours remaining, I am leaning towards Icons because the last 3 I got were Pirlo, Figo and Henry. They were all big W.

The TOTS are just endless recycling, Szezesny or Sommer every 4 draws. Never had anyone above 96, except Luis Alberto.

    What are you thoughts?
