It's not that we don't care that you got something good in your pack. It's just that we don't care enough to scroll all day to find out.

    • If you got something good, brag it up in here.
    • If you want to know what to do with it, ask away.
    • If you're about to commit pack suicides, write your goodbye letter here.
    • If you literally burned through all your coins and ended up with nothing... welcome to the club.

Let us live vicariously through your mistakes or your insane good luck... IMAGES are highly encouraged!

that Future Stars promo will probably be later than last year as well. Even though the future stars cards werent that great last year, it did have a few gems depending if it fitted your team. I think the concept is fun and lets you dream and play with those big talents.

TOTY is a promo only the richtest can enjoy, the rest of the people will just encounter those TOTY players in rivals and WL and get stomped by them.

With Muller getting snubbed in the TOTY voting, it would be cool if EA gave us a TOTY Muller Objective similar to the Summer Heat Mendy from last year.

No one has a realistic view of how good they are at FIFA.

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 10:36 AM PST

Ok, some people do, but - the more you read this sub, the more you get the sense that most complaints are a mechanism to avoid coming to terms with the fact that you might not be as good as at the game as you think you are.

This isn't a defense of EA, I think they're rotten corporate goons who only function to leech every possible penny out of the player base by any means necessary. And I do of course have my own opinions on where FIFA gameplay can improve. But, it must be mentioned that it's an impossible task to have gameplay perfectly tuned to every player's preferences across a gigantic player base that is hugely varied in skill level.

However, all day long you'll read about how AI is too dumb or too OP, skill moves need nerfing or buffing, game favours offense too much or defense too much etc. Often times the same people contradicting their own supposed opinions on what needs fixing.

I'm sure I'm guilty of it too, we all want to do better or believe we deserve more wins. But so many of us need to take a step back and think that maybe this mythical perfect gameplay you have in your mind doesn't exist, or will change often enough to be unattainable and continue to help you cope with your lack of success.

I've only been a FUT player and reader of this subreddit since FIFA 17. So, it's hard for me to decipher whether the glory days of FIFA 15 & 16 were actually much better, or if it's more nostalgia/recency bias allowing everyone to say the current game is the worst it's ever been to make themselves feel better.

TLDR: we'd all probably enjoy the game a lot more if we accepted that our own skill level is what it is. Or perhaps consider that it is ourselves preventing us from doing better, rather than an easy scapegoat of X mechanic is ruining the game.

There should be a Winter Refresh/Upgrade for certain stats on Icons

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 12:18 PM PST

    • Baggio - His Prime card is criminal, he was a FK specialist and a scorer of magnificent goals yet he only has 74 shot power? 74.

    • R10/Sheva/Pele - Both should have 5* WF I don't need to say why.

    • Rivaldo - 4* skills? Anyone who watched Rivaldo will know that 4* skills isn't right for the man; he deserves 5*.

    • Henry - Balance needs a HUGE boost + passing needs to be bumped up a bit. (For both his mid and prime) There may be a case of 5* skills for Henry.

    • Pirlo - Yes his 5* skills is a bit OTT, but his long shots were superb, 80 SP and 84 LS on his prime is shocking.

    • Nesta/Baresi - Two EXTREMELY athletic CBs yet they both barely have 75 pace on their prime cards and as for Nesta on his own; 38 agility is mind boggling, Nesta in his prime is like Varane every week in WL, virtually imposible to beat 1v1.

    • Maldini - His LB card is so poor, not only is he arguably the best CB ever but he's arguably the best LB ever also, the stats on his LB card are pathetic, why is his dribbling & passing so poor?

    • Kaka/Owen - 91 & 90 pace for PRIME Kaka and Owen... Kaka outran a young Lionel Messi without breaking a sweat and as for Owen he was lightning. Staying on Kaka his passing, shooting and pace on all of his cards are so underwhelming they don't reflect how good Kaka was.

    • Puskas/Roberto Carlos - This might be nitpicking but I think Puskas deserves 5* now the skills that Puskas did back in his era aren't as jaw dropping if you were to see them on TV today BUT back then they were he showcased tricks and skills that had never been done before. As for Roberto Carlos, 4* skills minimum, he was an extremely skill full LB, I dunno where EA for 3* skills from.

Do you think anyone else deserves better stats?

Biggest problem facing this game, and also one of the longest running issues - Inconsistency

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 01:12 PM PST

Simple as that. Every time I join a match, gameplay will vary due to connection issues that only plague this game. When I play any other online game, everything is as consistent as possible from match to match.

When I play FIFA, I feel like I have to adjust my playstyle to not counter my opponent - rather I have to adjust to a different football game I was playing last match.

I've played video games for a long time, especially in my early days with terrible ping. Never once was gameplay inconsistent. I've played with up to 300+ ping due to not having servers available near me as gaming was not as widely supported worldwide years ago. Even with 300+ ping - regardless of the game, be it DOTA or counter strike or what have you - gameplay was always consistent, and you could enjoyably play around having high latency.

FIFA is the only game in my lifetime where I've experienced things like player speeds varying from game to game, player marking, runs etc etc. Imagine if you're playing COD and one game you run 10% faster than anyone else and then next match you run 8% slower and so on, randomly. You'd get frustrated like any normal human being.

There are a lot of you who have consistent connections and maybe don't see as much difference from game to game, but for many others that isn't possible and this is where the ideas like Handicapping and scripting come in, everyone has had games where everything bounces your way or your opponents way, where his players always make runs and yours stop, or vice versa.

A simple test you can do is use phone hotspot to connect your console to the internet and try different internet connections. You'll see based solely on each connection how your wins and losses differ, and how gameplay varies.

Just my opinion based on my personal experiences. Do you guys agree/disagree?
