What even is the proper way to play fifa?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 11:28 AM PDT

    • I play slow = I'm toxic for playing slow
    • I play fast = I'm toxic for countering for getting the ball back
    • I play 10 depth press = I'm toxic for pressing.
    • If I don't press as much = I'm toxic for playing defense.
    • If I use skills = I'm toxic for abusing skills.
    • If I play on the wings = I'm toxic for abusing the wings.

Below 8 chem should be more of a negative than it is

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 03:10 PM PDT

Almost every game I've played today, people are using fullbacks as cb's on 7 chem and are fucking almost impossible to get through or round - I really hope this doesn't become a multi fifa meta and in Fifa 22 it's more detrimental to have sub 8 chem

This game is driving me insane

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:50 PM PDT

Since I first started playing quite a few years back I have always got quite angry with Fifa, I'm not an angry person but this game honestly drives me crazy. Why is the game so addictive? I get so frustrated when playing but can't put the controller down for some reason. What is the best way to stop myself from 1. Getting pissed off with the game (and yes I tell myself it's only a game) and 2. Playing the game less in general. I know lots of other people will feel the same as me. Never known a game to be as frustrating yet so addictive.

The best upgrade you could do to your players/game is play at 3am.

I could make 40 lines of text about everything that felt better playing at this time and that connection is King in this game and blablabla but Im going to leave only this shocking statement right here :

The passes go right where you aim.

This weeks content has been pretty good

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 11:31 AM PDT

Am I the only one who thinks the content this week has been better than most promos. This week we have gotten the st Patrick players, some random daily sbcs, PM Giroud and Rabiot, the Bender brothers, 85+ pack sbc, icons, and leagues sbc. Personally I think this week with no real promo has been better than promo week.

    90 Giroud Review - A WL Meta-Destroyer

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:00 PM PDT

Quick Review on the big man Giroud

When I saw that Giroud came out I knew I had to have him in my team. The grind was real, I have never played Managerial Masterpiece and I understand the hate. I sold my TOTY Lewa and replaced him with 90 Giroud, was that a good idea? probably not. Did I have fun? Yes I did.

I used him in a LS position in a 4-2-2-2 formation, instructions to stay forward and central, everything else was left alone. Played 26 games in WL for Gold 1. Meta-Destroyer? with LBs and RBs in the CB position, big boy Giroud had easy pickings this weekend.

    Pace: 7/10

Surprisingly fast and was able to outrun the meta RB and LB in the CB position due to his good positioning, once they caught up, his strength allowed him to push them off of him and keep going towards goal. Had him with Hunter and I could feel a big difference.

    Shooting: 9/10

His best stats. Ball left his left foot like if it owed him money. His shots were powerful and precise. only reason it isnt a perfect 10 is because his finnesse shots werent good at all. I couldnt make many finesse shots so I sticked with power shots after a few games. Heading was unreal. Have you ever seen someone sub out a RB tavernier to bring in Varane? Giroud was a threat on any corner and cross. Loved crossing it to him. His right foot wasnt too bad either, scored a few with his right but mostly stayed on his left.

    Passing: 7/10

Surprisingly, his passing was really good. I have a hunter on him so his passing didnt get boosted but I managed to snag a few assists while holding the play. Just try to pass with his left.

    Dribbling: 6/10

His dribbling was decent, his 4* skills definitely helped with getting out of sticky situations but if you are a dribbler, Giroud isnt for you. He is a target man and that is where he shines. But for a target man, his dribbling is great. He has that 'Sticky' trait where the defender and Giroud crash, Giroud will be the one with the ball 80% of the time. That might be due because of his strength and aggression.

    Def: N/A

    Physical: 10/10

Being 6'-4" he is a wall. In-game, Giroud can bully players and if you know how to cover the ball you can hold the play and wait for your teammates to make a run. Combine that with players using LBs and RBs as their defenders you can hold the ball very well and can beat them in most cases.

    Overall: 8/10

I actually played better this weekend than usual. Having Giroud forces you to slow down your game and play to his strengths. If you love target men like I do, Giroud is a great guy to have in your team.

    26 games: all WL. (20 wins-6 losses)

    Starting formation. All untradeable players!

Gold 1 Sparta Prague Past & Present WL review

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:34 PM PDT

After one month away from the game I realised I quite miss Fifa. But this time I actually wanted to have fun by using players I like/that aren't meta. So I decided I'll try and build a Sparta Prague Past & Present team. In short, the team is shit and has a bronze striker. But I stil gave it a go in WL.

    Sparta Prague P&P

    Default Tactics

    Formation

GK: Comes for Crosses, Sweeper Keeper

    Defence: Default

CDMs: Cut Passing Lanes, Cover Center

    CAM: Stay Forward

RCAM/LCAM: Stay Forward, Get Into The Box for Cross

    ST: Stay Central, Stay Forward

    Tactics

    Defensive tactics

    Defensive Tactics

GK: Comes for Crosses, Sweeper Keeper

    CBs: Default

RB/LB: Stay Back While Attacking, Overlap

LCDM: Cut Passing Lanes, Cover Center, Stay Back While Attacking

RCDM: Cut Passing Lanes, Cover Center

    CAM: Stay Forward

RCAM/LCAM: Get Into The Box for Cross

    ST: Stay Central, Stay Forward

    Short player reviews

86 Petr Čech (5/10, 7CS): I was really really surprised at how bad he was. Didn't really save anything extra, subbed him off in rage for Dubravka a few times. Has a cool helmet tho.

83 Pavel Kadeřábek (9/10, 8A): Tied second best player in the team. Really solid going forward and in defence. Got sent off two times after fouling Mbappé who was through on goal. Worth it. Best defender by miles.

74 David Hovorka (7/10): Really didn't wanna use him, since he plays for Slavia now, but since no other Sparta defender looks like a playable card I had to use him. The 77 pace (+Shadow) really helped, expected alot less.

70 Dávid Hancko (6/10): Pretty much as good as Hovorka, but a bit slower. Got caught out of position alot.

73 Matěj Hanousek (7/10, 1A): As in real life, his only upside is the pace. Even though 85 pace isn't the best, it is absolutely rapid in context of this team. Really helped to have him against the Mbappé's and Neymar's.

81 Juraj Kucka (9/10, 10G 13A): I wanted to use Kuco for a long time. Originally bought him when he came out but only used him now. And oh my is he a beast. If he had 70+ pace he would be in my main team, 100%. He can shoot, he can defend, he can pass. Great card who can score bangers.

71 Ladislav Krejčí (7/10, 2G 2A): Bořek Dočkal was originally in his position, but had to switch to get more defensive stability in the team. His passing was really dodgy, but he made up for it with some great tackles.

79 David-Moberg Karlsson (8/10, 13G 12A): Was dissappointed not to get his red FUT Champions card after my last weekend league almost a month ago, so had to buy him. I absolutely love him in real life and fair to say he delivered. Great speed, but could really benefit from 4* SM or WF.

91 Pavel Nedvěd (10/10, 41G 16A): Do I need to say more? Haven't done his PIM SBC, but might have to now. Absolutely carried the team to Gold 1.

74 Adam Hložek (6/10, 9G 14A): Really wanted him to get a Future Stars card, but I had to settle with his 74. And I expected alot more. I know he isn't the fastest, but it seemed like he can't dribble for shit.

64 Lukáš Juliš (7/10, 10G 12A): The bronze beast. Didn't expect him to get involved in that many goals, but otherwise you could really tell he's a bronze. Atleast he has a bit of pace on him, which helps, but useless when he can't control the ball.

    Subs:

78 Patrik Schick (7/10, 8G 5A): Only realised I forgot about him about ten games in, so he could've had more goals. Came on in every game at about the 70th minute mark for Juliš and was a great asset to have on the bench.

74 Srdjan Plavšić (8/10, 4G 7A): He seemed alot faster than his card would suggest. As in real life his dribbling was great and made alot of impact off the bench in the LCAM position.

74 Michal Sáček (6/10, 1A): Came on for Krejčí in most games to cover in at CDM and while he wasn't great, he provided a very useful pace upgrade.

67 Fafà Picault (6/10, 1G): Played in only a handful of games, like in real life for Sparta. Fast, but not much else.

75 Bořek Dočkal (N/A: 1A): Only got on the pitch when we were leading comfortably, passing felt good, but not played enough to get rated.

72 Ladislav Krejčí (N/A: 1G): Another Ladislav Krejčí, only played in two games and in one of those he scored a banger into the top corner. Bad workrates and pace let him down.

    Gameplay

For context, I'm a Gold 1 player with a normal meta team, with a Elite finish here and there. During the week I tried the team in Division 1 in Rivals and it was awful with 1 win in 10 games. So I expected to finish somewhere around Silver 2, max Silver 1. And after the first four games it really looked like it will be a struggle. But then something happened and I started winning regularly. I only lost back-to-back games twice the whole Weekend League. A Gold 1 finish is really not what I expected when I went into this.

    Full Weekend League Stats

This Weekend League really showed me hope that you can play with a team you enjoy and I'm already thinking what my next team is going to be.
