| The gameplay on FIFA 21 is hilarious Posted: 20 Mar 2021 03:31 PM PDT I've been a FIFA player since 05, and I have to say the 'gameplay' on FIFA 21 is the worst, most comical I have ever seen in an ultimate team game. I'm a division 1 player, but I don't follow the meta or anything like that, and the game has now effectively become a race to figure out and master the exploits as quick as possible. At times, the game is farcical. I've spent all weekend league watching my opponents' players skit/glitch/teleport around all over the place, which I have now learnt is 'cancelled skill moves' (because thats a thing in real football). When I'm trying to contain Neymar and he's glitching and jittering around all over the place like he's in some kind of stop-start motion movie, it can have me in stitches at times. The passing is also comical. Sometimes you aim your sitck clearly down the middle of the pitch for a through ball between the defenders with low power, and your player launches it diagnonally out for a throw-in for example. What the hell has this game come to? All of these new, bs, features seem to be coming at the expense of the core fundamentals of the game, like passing and tackling. The gameplay in the early days of ultimate team, where it was simply LB + X, LB + Y was genuinely more entertaing than it is now. When you load up champs every weekend and you see all the sweats have learnt some new bullshit exploit the game becomes tiresome and frankly excruciating to play. | Posted: 20 Mar 2021 05:20 PM PDT So I basically put a whole load of players I had in my club that I didn't use into a prime icon SBC, such as SIF Ben Yedder, Reinier, Higuain and so on, in an absolute rage after an awful end to my weekend league, praying to god I'd at least get something good as karma for being shafted by EA (it's always EA's fault I lose, never mine, ever.) Bang open the pack and I get fucking Ian Rush, even as a Liverpool fan, I feel I've been shafted again. Figured fuck it, might as well give him a go, and Lo and behold I absolutely love him! He's by no means a meta player, dribbling's pretty average, but his finishing is amazing! And to be honest, he's just a fun card to use because he's different, and who doesn't love a big ol' moustache. My best goal scorer this FIFA has been Rooney, who averages a goal every game, but I've scored 20 goals in my first 10 with Rush, so by my standards, he's fantastic. But seeing luke shaw, zambrotta, Mbabu, Klaibers and other fullbacks in CB position is infuriating. the game is moving away from being a football simulator even further in every edition. Spamming skillmoves, playing players with no defensive awereness is now rewarded to building the team with football brain and how it can be working. not even saying a "shapeshifter" cards. meta slaves playing gold walker, gold mendy, gold wan bissaka and gold alba is name back 4. amazing. the only CB im playing against this WL is Varane. rest is all fullbacks. I hopped into a WL game (luckily I won) that said 30-40ms ping, but that was a f'in lie. Literally unbearable. The players were teleporting and there was literally not a single smooth minute in the game. I have 300Mb/s cable connection and again, it said ~30ms so it should have run smooth. And the worst thing is I'm not even sure if my opponent felt any of this because he was still spamming skills whereas I was scared to do a single ballroll because of the lag... This company is such a joke. They earn like a billion from FUT alone and still can't make good enough servers. I literally have never seen any other game that was unplayable because of the poor servers. Even indie game developers can provide better connection ffs... Why do EA get away with this shit? If a game like CS:GO had this issue the devs would literally be burnt alive. Talk about esports ready... [link] [comments] |

| Pace, balance and agility have ruined Fifa Posted: 20 Mar 2021 01:43 PM PDT There are 32 traits in the game for field players but 1 stands way above all with 2 others sharing the spotlight. Pace, agility and balance are the only important stats in Fifa. This is a big problem. The other 29 stats might as well not exist since they are completely meaningless. A card can have 99 in all other 29 stats if pace, agility and balance are below 75 the card is unplayable. Compared to their base cards Busquets: +38 pace, +30 balance, +15 agility, average +5 restLars Bender: +32 Pace, +25 balance and agility, average +5 restSven Bender: +15 Pace, +11 balance and agility, average +7 rest The way the game plays out it means all cards are pigeonholed into the same traits or deemed irrelevant. New cards aren't adding any meaningful tactical trade offs, diversity, decisions or whatever because they all have the same stats boosted or they are unplayable. The only choices we have left are body type, working rates and height. Edit: My conclusion is a sad one. Cards need unrealistic and absurd boosts in pace, balance and agility because EA can't make a realistic football game where positioning, passing, awareness, vision etc is a relevant trait that proportionally translates into the game. Since then he has been a mainstay in my WL team, and since then he has been the reason I am not getting an Ultimate Pack. Before Sancho I had scored in 180/200 WL-games with a squad full of rare players", but now my 92-rated, non-rare, 1m coin scrub is keeping me from reaching it. I reached out to EA support, who encouraged me write a bug report on the forums. Didn't know I was an unpaid Quality Assurance tester for EA, but you live and you learn. I also pointed him to a report from early March. But maybe the technology just isn't there to chance it. [link] [comments] |
