    Had only one end-game goal this year and I'm surprised I could achieve it by March. I know there are many better cards for the price but he's my favourite ever and this is what the game is about.

    The addition of the controller overlay has made me realise that the entire game is a slot machine.

    I've spent the last few hours playing with the overlay on and recording anything significant that happens so that I can analyse goals (for/against), misplaced passes, fouls, etc.

    And the controller overlay has done nothing but show me that now matter what I do, there seems to be a good chance the game will decide to do something completely different. Passes going the wrong way, players not moving despite me pressing the bumpers to trigger runs, defenders not attempting to tackle when the button is being pressed, the list goes on.

    I thought I was decent at the game, 900+ games played, gold/elite finish weekly in weekend league, 2200s in Div 1, but now I'm doubtful that much of the success I've had in this game was actually down to me.

    I always thought the non-gameplay part of Ultimate Team was all about playing that slot machine (packs), but all this has made me realise that the entire game is random.

    There's a part of me that regrets the time and money I've put into this game, but now that I can see that it doesn't really matter I am completely comfortable with walking away and never picking it up again, and it's bliss.

    Make Positioning Good Again

    Its sad that we have come to the point in the last couple of years where players like Saint-Maximin are better strikers then lets say a Suarez or Kane. Same thing with midfield: A Sissoko/Renato will always outperform a Kroos or Rodri even though they are far superior in real life.

    There should be an incentive to play these kind of players. The Problem lies in the positioning in this game because it makes virtually no difference at all. Rodri should always find space between the lines in build up and position himself much better in defensive situations than a Sissoko to make them a better option. Same thing with attackers: The offensive runs and general offensive ai is so basic that it doesnt allow for diversity between players and you often see the same 20 cards in most games of your weekend league.

    In my opinion it would make a massive difference. Its crazy to see that since Fifa 17 positioning has gone down hill more and more. The game doesnt even remotely represent football anymore, it is more about learning the next broken game mechanic until it gets patched..
