A LWB can never become a LM, but a ST can become a CDM. Are FUT positions broken?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 12:21 PM PDT

We've all seen it. TOTS or Mbappe in a midfield 3. SBC Rooney as a CDM. Position changes that make absolutely zero sense based on the player's real life attributes and skills.

On the other hand, we've got Kyle Walker, who plays as a CB in a back 3/5, can only be RB/RWB and if you want to play him centrally then you're forced to take the chem hit.

What gives? Has this been addressed here or by EA? In my opinion, position changes need to be either limited so that a player can only be changed one position up or down from their original position, or we need to be able to change any position to any other (besides goalkeeper) if we use enough consumables to do it. The way it works now makes no sense and is incredibly frustrating.

Hoping fifa 22 doesn’t double down on this skill meta

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 07:04 AM PDT

I have no problem with skills being op in the game but this year has been tough for me as someone who relies more on passing play when attacking. I hope EA balances it somehow so it doesn't feel like skills are a must when playing in the high ranks.

Also in my opinion skills should be more of a mental game attempting to trick your opponent rather than bridging and skill cancelling your way through the opponent hoping for a lucky bounce or a bad reaction from a defender.

Lastly I don't like the idea of skills being a "skill gap" I might be in the minority with this.

    An underrated annoying thing

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 11:26 AM PDT

D'ya wanna know what annoys me on the companion app so much? That when searching for players to put in a SBC it defaults to "Highest quick sell" rather than highest rating. Especially considering how many untradable players we all have.

Another example of something small being overlooked.

(I'm obviously aware some people like the way it defaults, but I think we should at least have the option to change it).

Wingers with base pace 97-98 feel more rapid than 99/99 pace after chem style players. Is it just an illusion?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 08:47 PM PDT

During La Liga TOTS i got Messi and Coutinho and was playing them on the wings in last 3 weeks and my wingers combination play didnt felt like before.

I had hunter on both cards with maxed out pace and very high dribbling stats and good body types and height, yet for some reason those 2 cards doesnt give me that full 99/99 pace on the wing like some other players like Showdown Neres or TOTS Bailey or eve Fbday Sane that doesnt have maxed out dribbling and is a little bit taller, it feels like these guys have that edge when it comes to speed on the wing. Is it just illusion or does anyone else feels this way?

    MLS Retro Kit Tip

Yes getting the kits are a huge pain. But if you get two and wear them as your Home and Away kits they count for both teams.

UPDATE: I suck at this game.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 03:45 PM PDT

A bit more than 1 week into the game.

My defense got better, I know how to attack. I actually posess the ball more than my opponents!!
I trained a lot. Played hours a day. Learned how to make use of skills. Got a better team! Opened some packs and even got a walkout (Sergio Busquets). Something I realized is that Fifa is not like other games. Fifa is competitive just like other games but there is a huge difference overall.

Fifa is not beginner friendly at all.
Overwatch and LoL are much more beginner friendly and I thought LoL was a cruely game to start with!
It feels horrible playing Division Rivals. When I began playing Fifa I had to play Rivals in order to get packs and I lost every single game. I had 1 tie. Squad battles are fun but I wanted to play competitive and not against a CPU. I am division 9 and let me tell you. Division 9 is not fun to play in as a beginner.
My team averages around 82 and 4 out of 5 times I get queued against someone who has 3 icons, Neymar, Ronaldo and Messi. I actually won some now, but it is just not fun to try your best and lose because someone is much faster and connects every pass. I can't get better players because I need to win more games. I can't win a lot because my opponent is both more experienced and has far better players. LoL and Overwatch had a skill/time/sucess curve. But Fifa gets worse over time! Battlefield 5, Counterstrike, Apex legends. All of those games had this kind of curve where it makes you see that you improved. Fifa in contrast is horrible. I got better. I know that. But I can't feel it. I got better and my points decrease. Makes no fun at all.

    Is this normal?!

The AI in Pro Clubs is absolutely dreadful and needs to be fixed.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 09:50 PM PDT

Obviously Pro Clubs is not one of EA's top priorities, but something needs to be done. The AI can make the game unplayable with how bad their defending is. They have so many issues it's not funny.

    • Keeper ignoring calls and booting it to the shortest guy on the team

    • Keeper kicking it straight to the opposition Striker when no one called for it there

    • Centre backs following Striker to keep him on side, causing a massive hole in defence

    • Defenders clearing the ball out when there is no pressure on them

    • Full backs doing nothing to stop wingers down the line

    • Defenders not actually tackling the player with the ball, they just run next to them

These are just some of the problems from the top of my head. Some people might say to just play as any, but I believe that defeats the purpose of the game. Plus we like playing as our own character.

If anyone has any tips on how to improve the AI tactics wise that would be appreciated.

Are Ligue 1 TOTS in the packs?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 06:10 AM PDT

Because I have opened almost 40 packs now( mostly the current available upgrade packs and player picks) and haven't packed a single one yet. Atleast with the previous leagues'ToTS I was consistently getting some fodder, but right now my best pull has been 85 Sane from the player pick😭😭

Is there a large playerbase on PC?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 08:49 PM PDT

I haven't bought a new FIFA game since 19 and wanna get back into it. I have a PC that could 100% run it well. I don't wanna play the ridiculous price for a PS5.

Is there a decent sized playerbase for PC? Specifically ultimate team.? I wanna play on PC but wanna make sure there's an active enough playerbase.

    Thanks!

P.S - When does FIFA 22 come out? If it's about to come out, I'll just wait for that.

    Global lottery of FUT

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 06:36 PM PDT

My best pull from TOTS guateeented SBC's has Vazquez from La Liga which is ok I grant you. All other SBC's have been utter shite. Yes not even one good player from any of the minor leagues.

I know all this shit is random luck - but fuck me surely EA can develop a system whereby it recognizes your pulls have been shit to at least grant you a good, useable player from time to time. Can't they remove at least some of the randomness at this time of the year to give some fun back to the community?

Finally on this, surely they can also develop a system that recognises the players you have in your club so you don't pull duplicates?

Why do we as a community always put up with this lottery/casino/RNG of a game ?

It's June and EA still haven't patched the kit walkout glitch, lol!

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 11:29 AM PDT

The game's been out for 8 months and you still get that generic white kit worn by some bald guy, instead of the kit you've unlocked! I know it's only a little insignificant cosmetic glitch but it just shows how little they give a shit about this game and their customers. Also the team names still glitch out on friendlies, lol!
