    Hi, thanks for reading this. I am clearly awful at fifa, and I accept that. What is difficult for me to accept is that no matter how many tutorial videos I seem to watch, nothing ever really clicks or seems to work for me. I see videos of good players doing fancy skill moves and drag backs and fake shots, but stuff like that does not help me because I tend to just lose the ball within 1 second of getting it.

    I feel like I am missing a lot of core fundamentals/basics of this game, stuff that these tutorials assume you know or understand, but I do not. A great (and classic) example is that I cannot beat the "guy who just runs at you". If I play against him, its over. I cannot dribble around him, I can make a few passes but eventually I get cornered and a pass gets intercepted. My typical game ends with my opponent outshooting me like 20-1, I am usually thrilled to even get a shot off on net, let alone score a goal.

    Anyway, if anyone knows of any good guides on just key basics, I would really appreciate it. Or any advice in general, something maybe you didn't understand at first but is core to the game. Thanks, and maybe with some more work we can get to division 9. Have a great day.

    Edit: I am really overwhelmed that so many people are offering to help me, unfortunately I am on PC (I do play with an xbox controller though) so it looks like I cannot link up with most of you. A few things, no I did not grow up playing/watching football, and it would make sense that my gameplay reflects that, as I seem to have no idea about any tactics. I also use sprint, A LOT (mostly because it looks like my opponents are trying to blow right past me so I just try to copy that). I'm going to watch some real football, try to not sprint (that will be a hard habit to break), and play all of the skill games which sounds like they can teach you some stuff. I didn't even know the skill games existed. Maybe next week I can have some good news. I'm not expecting great strides but even a few close games against humans would really make me happy, win or lose.

    I don't understand how almost every rivals game I get into the person takes forever to ready up, won't skip the starting animation, they take a long time to kick off (or they just stand there not moving if on defense). Then during the game they watch animations, replays, random pauses, etc. Do people just have no desire for quick games and stay engaged the whole time?

    Anyone else playing this like a card collecting game?

    Actually playing the game is no longer fun for me, if anything I think it's very stressful mostly because you never know what version of fifa you're going to get. So instead I've enjoyed trading on the market, doing SBCs, and general squad building. I've done well enough that no money spent I can play with Neymar Mbappe Messi etc etc, but after obtaining those players and building a mega team you quickly realize that doesn't fix gameplay or make you jump from gold 1 to elite 1, really you probably won't go up even 1 rank. You also quickly realize in bad gameplay neymar and Messi also turn like a truck just like Dembele. With that being said when I look at it like a card collecting game this game is actually very fun especially because the market has been so volatile this year and EA have released well priced SBCs. Anyone else prefer everything else in the game except playing the game?

    I've skipped every replay I've been able to this year except for my 35-40 yard banger or when I'm getting something out of the oven. I skip them because they're a waste of my time. But who cares if someone else feels satisfaction over dabbing and shushing? Let them do it, don't care, smash him, and then maybe drop them a message taking the piss. It's literally a video game animation that y'all getting on your high horse all bothered about them is why they do it in the first place.

    If they do that shit, look at your phone for a second, grab a snack, or do anything else. Stop being so petty.

    Comprehensive guide for UCL and UEL RTTF card first round upgrades

    Below is a table I created containing all the UCL and UEL RTTF cards and whether they will be upgraded or not. Note that the bold items are TBD as all games have not been played. If a player's New OVR column is empty, there may receive an upgrade or they may stay the same.

    If a player's UCL card is changed to a UEL card, they will not receive an upgrade for simply becoming a UEL card, but will receive an upgrade if their team wins their first knockout game.

    I will be updating this table as the rest of the games are played out.

    I really like the tifo idea but c'mon where on earth did they create these tifos? all of them are insanely unrelated with football. i would like to see some real tifos. give us some tifos like in real life.
