    Hello /r/FIFA!

    Welcome to the Nominations and Voting Thread for our first ever Best Of Awards.

    We as a Mod Team thought it would be nice to celebrate some some of the quality activity that's gone on in our subreddit over the last 12 months - and let's face it, despite what can seem like a constant sea of negativity there's a few waves of good here and there. Plus, it's nice to have a bit of positivity on the front page for a change.

    The voting categories are as follows:

    Each winner in the above categories will be given a Reddit award. The categories below will not be given Reddit awards, and are just for fun.

    Best FIFA Mode

    This post will serve as the nomination and voting thread for each Best Of category. There will be top level comments on the below post for each Best Of category. To submit a nomination, reply to the appropriate comment with a link to the post or comment in question. For those who may be unfamiliar with the concept of a Year End award, eligibility for an award started January 1st, 2019, and ended December 19th, 2019 (the day this was first posted). This means that posts/content from both FIFA 19 and FIFA 20 can be nominated.

    Keep the following in mind while nominating a post:

    • Submit nominations only as a reply to the relevant top level comment, as other comments will be removed to keep voting simple.

    • Don't nominate your own posts!

    • Don't nominate posts made after the creation of this thread.

    The nominations will be set to contest mode, meaning that all comments will be sorted randomly and no scores will be displayed until the winners are announced. Should anyone not believe the final vote for whatever reason, I will take a screenshot of each winning nomination before the winners are announced at a date to be determined, but most likely mid-to-late January.

    If you are going to be away from your console during this next week or two and plan on completing any SBCs, make sure you go into FUT and log out properly. You won't be able to submit SBCs if you DNF'd your last game.

    Trying to flip some specials, just lost 10k because I absentmindedly bid on a IF instead of a 2IF. Yes it's my fault but a better system would be great.

    I hate having to put Ina price range so specific to try and find a specific version of a card, it makes no sense.

    And do?t get me started on blue versions of cards being "specials"

    I feel like I'll never truly know how good I am at this game due to the inconsistency of gameplay

    I'm a consistent Gold 2/ Gold 1 player, finishing between 17-20 wins during the Weekend League if I play all 30 games. If I don't have the time or just can't be bothered, I'll just get to 14 wins and call it quits for the weekend.

    This weekend I had my best ever start, going to 20-5 over the weekend. I had some laggy games on Saturday but managed to grind my way through them, losing only the single game in the process, before then going on a great run of around 14-4 last night. The gameplay was smooth, I was playing some great FIFA, and was finally grinding victories from games I've typically lost in the past. I felt for the first time since FIFA 17 I might actually have an Elite 3 finish in me.

    I log in today to try and finish my 5 games and lose 3 on the bounce. I can take losing, and knew I'd face some tougher opponents at this stage, but what drives me fucking crazy is how awful the gameplay was today. My players were running through mud, button presses weren't registering, and the lag was terrible. I might well have lost these games anyway, but it was so frustrating playing people I feel I could have beat if the gameplay was smooth.

    This is the same every weekend. I never normally do this well, but I know anywhere between 25-50% of my games will be lag-filled shitfests every weekend, and ultimately it will cost me games. I feel if I had 30 lag-free games I might actually be able to make Elite 3, but I guess I'll never know.

    This is EA's premier game mode, the one where you can really test yourself and earn the best rewards. They make tens of millions from us each promotion and yet can't guarantee consistent gameplay, even when we have great internet speeds, low ping, and are using a wired connection. I feel like I'm at the mercy of EA's servers more than I am my opponent in these games.

    It's a disgrace and I've little hope that they'll actually make the changes necessary to resolve this, even if they have addressed this. It's been an issue for years but feels worse than ever in FIFA 20. Not being able to really test myself and being forced to play most of my games after 1am on weekends just to try and get some decent gameplay is killing my motivation to keep going.

    There's so much bullshit EA throw our way - I've never seen a company have such contempt for its customers - but I could forgive nearly all of it if I could actually play the game in its best state every weekend. Alas, apparently that's an unreasonable request, and I should just load up on FIFA points to try and buy my way to victory through the awful connection issues.

    Anyone else feel this way?
