PSA if you’re completing Ben Yedder I’d recommend doing it ASAP

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 10:01 AM PST

Ea messed up the requirements and the 86 rated squad only requires an 80 rated one

Edit: wow wtf didn't expect this much love, shoutout to the community and to the g that gave silver ❤️

Jordan Henderson signifies what is wrong with TOTW

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 01:49 PM PST

He has been the driving force behind a Liverpool side that is going to win their first title in over 30 years. He's probably playing the best football of his career and yet not a single inform. And it seems the only way for players to get them is by scoring goals; a simplistic and unintelligent view of football.

They need to develop of more sophisticated system that rewards other attributes of footballing success: tackles won, chances created, marking players out of the game etc.

If EA were smart they would leave the SBC as it is

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 10:43 AM PST

I would never complete Ben Yedder for 750k, but make it close to 500k because of 86 squad bug and I might reconsider..

Mbappe/Neymar go for less than that and they are tradeable. This really should be a 450k max player

EA Tweet Regarding the Ben Yedder SBC: the Ligue 1 POTM SBC had incorrect requirements set, and we have taken it down. The SBC will return with the correct requirements at a later time. For those who have partially completed it, we're looking into it and will post an update here when we can.

update on the ben Yedder SBC

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 11:31 AM PST

You think my opponent was pissed? Look at the time.

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 02:42 PM PST

Two 82 rated players in rewards makes playing in the WL feel like a massive waste of time.

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 04:53 AM PST

The players can't even be used in an anyway decent sbc.

    The meta debate

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 04:53 PM PST

I've been an outspoken critic of how adoption of the meta is lazy, unimaginative, and makes the game boring. After some introspection, I realized that my disdain for the meta worshippers mirrors my disdain for bandwagon football fans.

Typically, both sets of people justify their choices through some variant of saying that winning is what matters to them. I get that. It's better than losing.

But in sports, as it is in politics, its partisan nature is what brings both vulnerability and excitement. I root for Newcastle United not because they're any good (quite the contrary, really), but because my decades of support accesses an emotional core—the wins feel sweeter, and the losses more devastating. I can't imagine feeling anywhere close to way about my team's results if I supported City last year and switched over to Liverpool this year.

It's hard to put a finger on, but I have a few theories on why bandwagoning is so despised by sports fans: it lacks authenticity, loyalty, originality of thought, and perseverance in seeing your team through ups and downs. It all just feels unearned. And I think all of these things are necessary ingredients for making football great and loved all around the world.

So my question is, is it fair to draw some equivalence between the two, and do you think they are closely correlated (i.e. bandwagon fans are more likely to run meta squads)?
