    I wonder if EA intentionally make it bad so people can actually score goals, because about 50% of my games against players of my level would end goalless if I could switch to the right player. I've also tried right stick player switching but its still very flawed.

    Except for the league upgrade sbc's and marquee matchups, what the fuck EA. Untradeable rewards from an SBC? Seriously? 82 rated squad for a fucking kit? It's May for fuck's sake. So many people will stop playing after Ultimate TOTSSF. Why does this company have to be so greedy man? Not everyone can spend hundreds on fifa points. If I give in an 82 rated squad I'm at least expecting tradeable players back, but no that is too much to ask. Give us a cheeky tradeable 50k pack. Or another set of advanced sbc's. I really like the objectives EA released but you have to admit the daily sbc's have been a pile of shite.

    That was the epitome of Meta. We saw the same front three every other game, just like in 20. At least in 20, that front 3 are real-life world-class players.

    Point is, if you exploited the meta then, you can't complain if newer players are doing it now.

    It's like EA purposely hides the scripting. You could batter someone and gave 12 shots on target. The highlights will show only the three shitty shots your opponent took.

    He'll stumble and fall, he'll try to stop the ball with his knee and launch it into space, he'll make 17 unnecessary moves and touches before the shot.

    But when the game ends he'll appear on the scoreboard with 2G and an assist and it turns out he was the main man in your squad all along.

    Everything about Fifa is all about ensuring enough money gets in EAs back pocket. So long as that is, nothing will change. Remember when the first puzzle sbc which was untradeable came out? There was a massive uproar. Now however, it has become the norm. Packs back from player sbcs have been abysmal all year. Who wants a prime mixed players pack back from an 87 squad? Yet we continue to accept it.Marquee matchups have been gradually nerfed to the point, and we have come to accept that as the norm.

    Sbc prices have (generally) become extortionate this year. There have been a few exceptions (Kent, Witsel) but in comparison to previous years, they are abysmal.

    Icon swaps have made top tier icons completely unattainable. Last year you could grind towards Gullit or Eusebio. Nowadays though, you either have to spend an unhealthy amount of time grinding, or spend real money.

    Objective players are shocking value for time compared to last year. Last year, you could get a 91 TOTS Stuani, who was a very solid card, by scoring 20 goals in squad battles with La Liga players. This could take 2/3 games. Various other players were available with similar objectives taking 1 or 2 games. Now though, to earn a Boga or Dilrosun, who are shambolic cards, it takes 6 games minimum, with a whole variety of complex objectives. Season progress players are so far behind the power curve for the average player they are no longer useable.

    There is nothing to grind for in milestones, except a couple of players who's sell by date passes by long ago.

    Pack weight is extremely low, people have opened 10s of upgrade packs to get 0 TOTS cards.

    They gameplay is a similar story. Never has the pool of players used been so small. Never has the game been so dull, the servers so inconsistent. The basics of football, such as heading, are useless. Tackling is so poor you're almost better off not trying to defend. Passing is wildly inconsistent, and delay is sometimes appalling.Shooting at the near post and cutbacks are near enough the only viable ways of scoring. DDA is, in my opinion, in the game making it so unfair. If I wanted to play against EA, I'd play offline instead.

    Rivals is ruined for lower division players, who get smacked by self relegators looking for easy ways out of doing objectives. Toxicity is at an all time high with shushes and dabbers.

    The amount of mistakes EA make with their content, basic spelling or grammatical errors, show how little they care.

    This game isn't fun like it used to be. Of course FIFA 15 wasn't a perfect game, but even though there was a lot less content, I would still play it because I enjoyed it. Now once I finish my WL games, or my Rivals objectives, it's a feeling of relief rather than happiness.

    EA have got us in their trap. I have never spent money on this game, but I am addicted to it, because I love football. FIFA has been on a steady decline since 15, and unless PES step up their game, or EAs profit goes down, nothing is going to change.

    I am probably going to buy FIFA 21 next year, but it's the first time I have genuinely considered not buying it. The game is in the worst state it has ever been, and something has to change.Sadly though, I don't think it will.

    433(5) (False 9) In Depth Formation Guide

    Bored of/Refuse to use the META? Or is it simply just not working for you? Then Read on :)

    I was stuck in a rut changing formations constantly and not being able to create chances, not having fun etc.

    Switched to the 433(2) originally and after tinkering about I realised the ST was no good to me as he was a bit too isolated. Bringing him back to play as a CF was the game changer for me. I'm now playing the best and most fun football I have all year.

    I'm a Division 5/G3 player so I'm not promising Elite 1 WL finishes or anything but you will get wins (and actually have fun while doing it)

    The beauty with this formation is you can play a more possession based game, you can play fast, you can play however you want. (Personally for me I like to play a bit faster but you can tinker with the tactics so that it suits you 😁)

    MY TEAM -

    I start my team off 451 for chemistry reasons then switch. This is how it lines up in game;

    GK - 95 Ter Stegen CB - 96 Hummels/92 Ginter LB/RB - 83 Grimaldo/82 Hakimi CDM - 93 Witsel CM - 96 Kroos/88 Pogba CF - 95 Vardy LW/RW - 93 Rafa/96 Fekir

    Some players are off chem but I don't find it affects the performance much tbh. 7/8 chem is perfectly playable.

    TACTICS -

    Defensive Style - Pressure On Heavy Touch W - 4 D - 7

    The reason for this is I like to try and gain back possession as quickly as possible, Constant Pressure and Press After Possession Loss just leave you too open I find and before you know it you've conceded from a counter. Balanced just doesn't cut it for my play style.

    With POHT the players will only press when an opportunity occurs. Thus conserving a bit of stamina and not leaving your players out of position.

    The width is 4 because you want to try and cut those passing lanes in the midfield without exposing your wings too much. 4 is the sweet spot I find.

    The depth is 7 because like I said I want to get the ball back as quickly as possible and getting it back higher up the pitch gives me more of an avenue to create a chance. If the depth is too low it will take longer to build up as you are further back into your end of the pitch which again doesn't suit my play style.

    Offensive Style - Fast Build up W - 2 PIB - 5 Corners - 2 Free Kicks - 3

    As mentioned before I like to play fast, self explanatory. (Long ball may also possibly work)

    Width is 2 just to bring the wingers in a little bit more. A lower width on a wide formation will still always be wider than a higher width on a narrow formation.

    PIB is standard, you don't want too many or too little in the box.

    Corners is 2 because heading is pretty bad as it is. More effective to play the corner short.

    Free kicks is 3, usually go for the shot but having players in the box means you have different options.

    INSTRUCTIONS -

    GK - All Default, Ter Stegen already has traits so I leave as is.

    CB - Default

    LB/RB - Balanced/Overlap

    The key in this formation is having fullbacks that can attack but also defend, think about the current Liverpool squad with TAA and Robertson.

    CDM - Man Mark/Drop Between Defenders/Cover Center.

    With cut passing lanes the CDM will move up the pitch to intercept the ball, with man mark they stay more in position and mark up tight to opponent. Drop between defenders is key because on the attack the CDM will drop between the CB's and the fullbacks move up the pitch due to balanced attack. So in attack the formation acts like a 3-4-3 in theory which ends up just overloading the opponent and that is when they start to make mistakes and Pressure on Heavy Touch does it's thing. See how it's starting to link together?

    CM - Get Forward/Stay On Edge Of Box For Cross.

    Get forward is a little hidden gem here. Let's say your wingers are making a run and you go for a cutback pass to your CF but there's no available passing lane. The CM's will then make runs from behind the CF and make runs past him aswell. It just adds another layer of unpredictability to your game. The key is to always keep the opponent guessing. A pair of B2B CM's are perfect for this.

    Stay on edge of box as we don't want too many inside the box as we don't want to easily get countered.

    CF - Stay Central

    Pretty self explanatory we don't need him drifting out wide.

    LW/RW - Cut Inside/Get In Behind/Get Into Box For Cross

    Cut inside pairs with get in behind and the low width. The wingers will be making runs behind the defence whilst not being too wide. You will be able to play cutback passes to the CF/CM with ease.

    I will advise you to look for players with HIGH stamina for the fullback and CM roles especially. Subs will need to be made but it is what it is.

    Slogging away on these servers isn't worth the red pick. It really isn't. You'll try and use those red picks and still hate the game, because it's on its arse right now.

    Your real 'missing out' is losing your weekend to this game.

    Playing other games makes you realise how crap this game is.

    So I started playing Warzone a couple of days back and it's the first time I'm trying FPS. Everyday I feel like I'm improving playing the game and feel like there's a learning curve. In FIFA tho I've been playing since 2014 and every year we're forced to adapt to a different style. Forget every year, every patch impacts the gameplay irrespective of whether they claim it or not. You can have a mega team and try to get better all you want but the deciding factors are still gonna be the servers and DDA. This year defending has been absolutely nerfed to the point where you can just put your controller down and your team will defend better without you controlling them. Yet every year we still buy the game cuz there's literally nothing better when it comes to a football game. EA have got us hooked and locked to their game. They've bought all licenses and as recent reports have come, they're making more and more money since the introduction of SBCs and FUT Champs. We're their slaves. They will not make this game better they honestly don't care. Every year there's gonna be a new META and everyone chasing it like goats yet get shafted by bad gameplay. This cycle is endless. Just wanted to rant it out.

    Unpopular opinion: Ryan Kent has never caused me any problems

    So many people talk about how irritating this guy is as a sub. Personally I never did the sbc so haven't had the privilege of using the card.

    But genuinely, every single time I've come up against him, I've always been able to defend against him without any real problems. Sure he's quick and nimble and has scored the odd goal against me. but I've never faced somebody who's completely torn me a new arsehole with Kent. Anyone else?

    How is he only 30k? I use him as a super sub and he's the funnest player i tried this year. Takes the ball from the attackers and then skills the whole pitch to score.
