Creative runs is the game changer this year! Posted: 07 Oct 2020 12:54 AM PDT This is so powerful feature and the best addition to FIFA 21 IMO. Creative runs make it so unpredictable for opponents and even for AI defending. You can take out/drag marking defender with creative runs, you can make space for wingers, you can come back to defense - I mean you can play the game completely differently unlike any FIFA before. It feels like you can mastermind the attack at a different level. With the effective crossings and through balls and combining with agile dribbling, it's going to be a new meta I think. If you are saying FIFA 21 is the same game, you haven't used creative runs properly. Tips: Creative runs is hard to master at the beginning. I'd recommend turning on trainer and enable mechanics with creative runs direction on. Edit: Added a tutorial - https://youtu.be/zkFyj062H5c?t=115 [link] [comments] |
Can we just calm down a bit on the AI skill moves please? Posted: 06 Oct 2020 06:04 PM PDT Pretty self explanitory from the title, but i swear playing against AI on higher difficulties this year just turns them into that dickhead we've all faced who seems to be determined to do a step over on ever blade of grass on the pitch Its not that they're particularly difficult to play against - much like the aforementioned dickhead, just sit off and wait for the right moment - but god its tedious especially when its EVERY SINGLE player who does it, even the ones without the flair trait - CBs should NOT be doing little step overs every second whilst being put under pressure So yeah, if you're gonna patch anything in this game EA (which, by the way, is genuinely one of the first Fifas I've thoroughly enjoyed for a long time, I'll be devastated when it gets patched back into oblivion) how about we just tone the AI skills down yeah? If I wanted to get repeatedly mugged off by Rodrigo doing a drag back I'd.....well I'd go and play Division Rivals. Thank you for attending my ted talk, I return now to the squad battles grind. Don't play draft on PC. Please help EA notice this... Posted: 06 Oct 2020 10:25 AM PDT Okay so if you play on PC and were thinking about playing a draft don't. Draft in PC is still sadly riddled with cheaters I spent 15,000 coins to see if they had fixed this problem, but it appears they've not. What seems to happen is when you play a cheater they'll have a team with very low chemistry as if they've just threw it together as quickly as possible. The match then kicks off and seconds after stutters before disconnecting you. It then shows the loading symbol at the bottom and says that they will review your match (which they won't) then you get handed a 0-0 loss and the rewards of the previous match. No coins back or Fifa points. Don't even try ask EA for help they say it's your fault for disconnecting and you have to check your connection. THIS HAS BEEN IN PC FIFA FOR 4+YEARS. AND IT'S A DISCONNECTING BUG! [link] [comments] |

Custom Tactics Guide - Fifa 21! Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:40 AM PDT Hello everyone! As is annual tradition now, I've one again spent around 40 games trying to work out how custom tactics work at the start of FIFA. I think I've found a few little changes from last year but will explain it overall. Firstly, I'll explain how defensive styles work, and then how depth and width affect your defence. Before moving onto attacking styles and how width affects you going forward. Streamable link for the visual learner. Defensive Styles To Put it simply, defensive style affects how defenders act when you aren't controlling them. It influences things like how close to be to the attacker and can affect how aggressive you are when going or interceptions. Drop Back On this setting, your defenders are happy to retreat back towards your own goal. On average, they will sit deeper than any other setting and will make no attempt to stay tight to attackers. This means there will be little space in behind for your opponent to exploit, but the trade off is that there will often be big gaps in front of your defence for them to play in under no pressure. Constant Pressure On this setting your defenders will stay tight to whoever they're marking and will constantly be looking to win the ball back. On average, they will sit higher up the pitch than all other settings. Contrary to drop back, on constant pressure you will leave lots of space in behind, but very little space in front of your defence. Balanced You can think of this as a sort of half-way house between constant pressure and drop back. Your defenders will still stay reasonably tight to your attackers but not be right behind them like constant pressure. They will generally sit about 3 or 4 yards behind the attacker. Pressure After Heavy Touch On this setting, not only will your defenders apply pressure after a bad touch but will also look to apply pressure when a player is about to receive a pass with very few options to pass himself. The 'base' setting for this tactic is very similar to balanced. Pressure After Possession Loss Think of this setting as the FIFA implementation of Pep Guardiola's 7 second rule when at Barcelona, whereby he gave his team 7 seconds to win the ball back after they lost it. What this means is that when you lose the ball, most notably in the final third, your players will step up and try to crowd the ball out so they have no option but to hoof it away. However, if your opponent successfully removes the ball before your press, you will find your midfielders and attackers out of position. Defensive Depth Drop Back Low Depth – On this setting, your defenders will generally try to sit about 15-20 yards inside your own half when the opposition breaks, and will be happy to retreat as far as the penalty spot when they make it into the final third. Drop Back High Depth – On this setting you'll generally sit 5-10 yards inside your own half when the opponent breaks away, however, as they move forward your defence will start to retreat heavily, ending up somewhere around the 18 yard box or just inside. Constant Pressure Low Depth – Even on low depth, your defence will still try to sit 5 yards inside your own half and won't retreat like they do on drop back. Constant Pressure High Depth – On high depth your defensive line will often be inside the opponents half, and even when they make it into your half with numbers, your defence will still sit 10 or so yards outside the 18 yard box. Balanced Once again balanced sits somewhere between these two settings. On a low depth you'll sit about 10 yards inside your own half, and on a high depth you'll sit around the halfway line. Both Pressure after heavy touch and pressure after possession loss have the same depth mechanics as balanced. Defensive Width This basically affects how wide your players will sit on the pitch (genius, right?) However, this year it seems to mostly affect the distance between your centre backs and your full backs. For most defensive styles, width is pretty much the same. On a low setting your defenders will generally tuck in and be about as wide as the six-yard box. Whereas on a high setting you'll be wider than the 18 yards box, mostly leaving big gaps between your CB's and your full backs. One thing to note however, is that on constant pressure, even on a low setting, your full backs will be happy to break from defensive shape to try and pressure players out wide. Attacking Styles If we think of defensive tyles as what the AI does with your defenders off the ball. Think of attacking styles as what runs your players will make when you're not controlling them. Long Ball This setting means that your players runs will all be geared toward receiving a long ball over the top of the defence. You'll often see your wide midfielders and strikers sitting right on the shoulder of the defence. Also, the rest of your players won be making any big effort to show short for the ball, as they'll often just be there as a bac up in case the ball doesn't reach it over the top. Fast Build Up This is reasonably similar to long ball. Basically on this setting, as soon as you win the ball, your players will make a big effort to get up the pitch as fast as possible for a quick break. They wont necessarily only look for long or short balls, just prioritise getting higher up the pitch. Though if you get caught our in the wrong place, it can make it easy for your opponent to break away as most of your midfield and strikers will be committed up the pitch. Possession On this setting your players will prioritise finding space for a pass, over the runs to get forward. You'll often see your midfielders drop back between your defence and similar activities. Generally, they're always looking for the safest space to receive a pass, even if it means going backwards. Your strikers will often drop short to receive the ball as well. Balanced On balanced, I couldn't really find much! The only real characteristic I could find was that you seem to attack ' in shape' with players trying not to break out of position. Attacking Width This affects how wide you are going forward. On a low setting, your central players will be close in the middle of the pitch together. I wouldn't recommend low width, as often your central mids will be so close that one player could mark both of them. Your wingers will also sit about 10 yards in from the touchline. On a high setting, your central mids will often be as wide as the 18-yard box. Also, you wingers will try to hug the touchline where possible. Anyway, that's enough from me. I hope this was somewhat helpful to you! [link] [comments] |
Results of 70 Gold Upgrade SBCs Posted: 06 Oct 2020 10:26 PM PDT Last year was the first time I have based my squad around untradeable players, I plan on doing the same this year. The Cost Pack Cost 3,850 x 70 = 269,500 First team players It's arguable that the only untradeable players with 'value', are the ones in your first team, everything else is future SBC fodder. IF Fernandes 365,00 Other Notable players 3x Discard IF 30,000 125 Discard Rare Golds 75,000 Result: 766, 850.00 TOTAL I'm very happy with how things have started, I have a good first team and I'm building up a good supply of cards for future SBCs. Posted: 06 Oct 2020 07:43 PM PDT Does anyone feel or notice that goalkeepers are non-existent, maybe that's due to the fact that shooting feels a lot better and shot power puts jets engines on your players boots. Also player switching feels off, however passing feels the best it's been in a good while. I'm loving fifa at the moment and at first I couldn't understand defending but when you realise you just have to learn the new pattern of play it gets a lot easier than you think. [link] [comments] |
