    Welcome To Our New FIFA Moderators!

    As we began another year of FIFA, the moderator team has been working on sacraficing adding some fresh blood to the team to ensure my dictatorship over the subreddit only plays out as an internal struggle among the mods instead of the dark empire the subreddit would become if my power remained unchecked.

    First off, we'd like to thank everyone who went through our newly revised application process by filling out the survey. There were a lot of great community members who took the time to give us really specific answers on what they want to see in our community and what they'd want to accomplish on the mod team.

    We normally take on a large group of new mods each round, but as the current team has become quite solid through their continued experience, this year the team voted on the 5 best applicants to add for now.

    If you did not get an invite during this round, keep in mind we still may add additional moderators over the next few months from this same round of applications. To be honest, sometimes new mods realize the job isn't for them. Other times they catch on quick, which means the team can focus on training a new group of moderators you'll love to hate.

    But for now, until you abuse them for their volunteer work on the subreddit and they quit or go rogue...

    Just so everyone knows: There is no "right" or wrong way to play the game

    Just don't be an asshole. That's literally it. The amount of people who think they have some moral superiority in this game because of how they play is incredible.

    If you want to spam skills with your fullback, go ahead. It looks dumb but work away.

    If you want to hold onto the ball and pass it back and forth then you go girl. At least that's what the sport which this game is supposed to represent is like.

    If you want to press the whole time then go for it.

    But don't complain when you press for 90 minutes and the other person holds onto the ball and ends up with 70% possession. They don't have any other choice because of your tactics.

    You like crosses? Go swinging.

    If you only want to play with meta players then more power to you. Until we have a game where Harry Kane is better than Teixera you will always have that advantage. And we all know there are so many WBY, Mendy, Gomez, Klostermann, Williams, Llorente and Dembele fans out there.

    Basically what I am saying is you do you, just don't act toxic if you get beat. Dust yourself off and go again. Send a gg if you want.

    And don't be an asshole.

    Whenever I come up against someone who is just really good at football, I love the battle. It usually ends 5-6 one way or the other, and it's fun as anything. That's why I buy this game.

    But as soon as you get into the higher divisions and the higher tiers of weekend league, you slowly stop playing football and start playing fifa.

    Fifa isn't fun. Constantly having to defend the same patterns of attack (because you're playing against 4231 yet again) and constantly having to watch pointless skill moves. It's just boring.

    It sucks that to become really good at this game, you basically have to forget everything you know about football, because it has no relevance.

    Why am I being forced to play football with ridiculous balls and stadium colours. ITS NOT PLAYED IN CANDY FLOSS LAND.

    Surely these things should only be seen by those that select them and not forced on players.

    Road To Glory 2.0 - Senegal: Week 2 “If you make too many mistakes on defense – try spending more time on the other end"

    First things first. How crazy is that I. Niane, got that POTM card? He tore his acl just week ago and this was his only chance to get a special card in this game. When I saw that he received that nomination I started clapping and jumping (had to do some explaining to my wife later). And then I got weirdly pissed (mini rant is incoming). Bunch of people on reddit were super upset about both the card ant it's price. "3/3 wf and skill rating is not worth it", "pft only 70 composure", "impossible to link and costs so much". I swear to god it's the same people that two months in the game complains "all the teams are the same", "game isn't fun, cards are too op". Well, I'm all for diversifying the game, and for me silver player, whose country or league struggle on his position, getting IF or special card with ovrl boost by 5 or 10 is much more interesting than an already op card getting slightly better. And those who complain about price, well it's super easy to earn money (and not to loose money) in this Fifa. I'm only playing and not doing any trading and I'm already at halfway to Mane. I guess different people finds different things interesting in FUT, that's what keeps this game mode alive. For me, even before Senegal RTG idea, most interesting point was finding and unorthodox player and that player giving me idea to build a team.

    Ok, back to business. I shifted my gameplay and formation, don't know for how long. Right now I'm playing 4-2-2-2 with this setup https://imgur.com/TArKmeZ. But for most of the week I was using 5-3-2 and with this tactic I found harder and harder to get out the back. If my opponent has "pressure after possession loss" turned on – I'm screwed. So I started experimenting, that experimenting got me down to 700sp, but then I returned to formation I lastly used on FUT 20 (4-2-2-2) and things got better. Also I switched Koulibaly's shadow to anchor and that seemed to make a massive difference. Right now I'm learning to call runs and ask players to come short so I could break out of the pressure. It's still a long way to go.

    I owe an apology to two players though. I said that Badou Ndiaye won't be playing for me anymore because his rating dropped by 3 ovrl, also I said that Keita Balde got worse. They're two of my 5 best players right now! Keita Balde is completely amazing as 76 card. He has glorified combo of 4/5 weak foot and 4/5 skill moves, and he's just so agile and clinical. Love him. I can't even imagine where I should put him when I'll eventually be able to buy Mane (but that's problem for the future). And Ndiaye, why he's not FUT legend by this point? Even with card rated 72 he's on par with top EPL "op" CM's. He can do everything, run everywhere and fill a hole in every position you need. He's my creative midfielder (should I stress – my only midfielder that's capable of creation) and if my full backs get tired when I'm holding a lead – he's fine to finish the game as one of them while I'm subbing on Kouyate instead of him.

    I returned to 900 sp right now and that's good. I feel like this is my level right now and I need to improve my playstyle, not my players.

    How was Ligue 1 POTM? Well he's a touch of quality my team didn't have before, I was used to that I'm only scoring sitters. Right now it feels really weird when I go to situation when my motor memory says that I screwed up and the shot will go wide or keeper will save it. Well Niane scores those goals. Of course he also misses some, but I imagine that this card will be hard to deal with for a long time.

    I have question. Why the hell player that has 92 speed with finisher chemistry on him feels like he has led boots on? Hate but I had to snap hunter on him.

    That's it for Week 2. I keep a minimal hope that my GK will get an IF card tomorrow. Senegalese are doing great in helping my road to glory.

    P.s. If EA will do scream promo again and for the third year won't give scream cards to Cisse, Kouyate or Seck they are frauds. HAVING A CURLY HAIR DOESN'T MAKE YOU SCARY. What makes you scarry? Being so big, that even despite being 69 ovrl CB put at the LB or RB (yes I did that with Seck) you still make opponent with Neymar on your side to give up the ball. Not because you're good at defense, but because you look like a freaking mountain with stare of the death.

    Rough weekend so far. I swear I've faced Mbappe as a Loan player the last 7 games, and he's been subbed on every time and he has completely ruined almost all my games. So hard to defend when players are running out of stamina

    I can't really play rivals, the dribbling this year drives me crazy as I can't touch the ball and people seem to glide past me.

    The Silver lounges are fun and gives me a chance to use players I never would usually use, seems to be less sweaty too which is always good.

    I hope they don't give up on it as I'm really enjoying it.

    Fifa 21 is better than Fifa 20, but still needs some gameplay changes until it can be "good"

    After playing over 200 games of Fifa 21 I feel it is better than Fifa 20 (not hard tbf) but still needs some tweaks until we can consider it a good game.

    - AI blocks. These are far too common and will encourage player to play deep and rely on AI blocks to defend.

    - Team press. Far too overpowered. As soon as you turn this on your players become superhuman. I honestly believe that changing it to an off and on system has made it even more overpowered as you can now do this and turn it off instantly to conserve player fitness.

    - Referees.Far too inconsistent. Although it's realistic no one likes referees making mistakes and in this game I've seen far too many. Offsides look very dodgy this year. I've seen multiple times players be sliced down in the box and nothing is given.

    - AI intelligence (Defending). While I like the change from predominantly AI defending in previous years, I believe they have slightly over done it. My centre backs now just separate like the red seas , without me controlling either, too often. Also if someone dribbles directly into an AI controlled player they just ignore the ball.

    - Passing. Very inconsistent this year. Through balls seem to barely ever go where you direct them and X/A passes are far too light and rarely ever reach the intended target unless you do a driven pass.

    - Delay. Although I don't believe it is as common as last year I still find too many games where there is noticeable delay when passing or dribbling especially.

    Obviously these are just things I have noticed about the gameplay and obviously there is much more they could fix outside this such as; Servers, menus etc. If you disagree or have noticed anything that should be changed about the gameplay feel free to comment.
