    r/FIFA: The New Feedback Megathread!

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 11:07 AM PDT

Hey guys, over summer the subreddit is very different compared to now, at the start of a new addiction addition of FIFA. It's important to us that the subreddit works for both its users and its moderators so we really do care about what you have to say.

We are trialling a new 'Feedback Megathread' where you guys can leave your comments, questions and discussion starters below. Constructive criticism is encouraged, it really is. But there is a fine line between this and blind hate. We want to try and work with you, and it takes two to tango. Comments that aren't constructive will be removed.

So, leave us a comment below! We will read them all because it is important that you guys have a voice here. This megathread format is being trialled so depending on how this goes, you may see these pop up more often.

There are a few things we would like to know. What do you like about this subreddit, whats going well? What do you think could be improved about the subreddit? Do you have any ideas for new things you'd like to see here? These questions are just guides to help get the brain juices flowing. You can answer them, or just some of them, or something else entirely.

When we post these feedback megathreads, we will also try and bring up a 'Topic'. This will usually be something regarding the content on the sub, so we want your opinion on it to help us moderate it better. This time, the topic is Past & Present squads.

P&P squads are posted often and at the moment they are removed as we do not allow squad posts outside of the Daily Discussion Thread (DDT). The reason why they are not allowed and considered in the same category as squad threads is because they are simply peoples squads and not much more. We want your feedback on what restrictions you want to put in place to allow P&P squads, but also to keep within the rules of no squad posts.

    For example:

    - No FUTbin squads. Must be an ingame screenshot of your actual team (no concept cards either)

    - A small description in the comments, discussing things such as why you chose certain players, what that player did for the club, a review of the team when you actually play with it etc.

I hope we can use these megathreads to improve the subreddit, so interaction with eachother in the comments is advised!

    Thanks guys

    Interviewer asking the important questions

GK with their normal stats, but outfield.

    Pace makes this game boring

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 06:32 AM PDT

The reliance on pace that makes players the "META" is by far the worst part about this game. It creates a game style which renders 99% of the available players useless in competitive play. In what footballing world is Inaki Williams a better striking option than arguably the best striker on the planet, Lewandowski?

There's virtually no midfield play or buildup. The best strategy is to get it out to your pacey wingers and strikers just so they can blow by an unresponsive AI. There's no actual "footballing."

Not only are some of the best attackers in the world useless, but so are a lot of defenders. Joe Gomez and Davison Sanchez better than Chiellini? Please. Can't tell you how many times I make a center back go in the wrong direction only the have him recover and make a tackle on me with his 99 pace.

This game is simply boring and one-dimensional because there is no variety in gameplay. There's no strategic passing or build-up. It's all about abusing the mechanics of pace and it has been like that for years now. This game will forever be a rage-inducing money racket for EA until that changes.

Edit: Judging by half the responses, a big part of the problem is the community.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: FIFA 21 is actually fun and good

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 02:43 AM PDT

I see it gets a lot of hate on this subreddit and Youtube, but I think that this year is really fun. I love how attacking is this year, also EA have done a great job with promos and giving out good free players, like Ones To Watch Jota and Rulebreaker Mukiele, who you can get in Friendlies, where you can play and test loan players without losing their contracts. Also they have brought back silver players, who are actually usable with Silver Stars. I also like how you can edit your stadium, even though you get like thousand Tifos. Gameplay is good, crossing is back, dribbling is more fun than ever with R1/RB button, dropback is not as big of a thing as last year. You get decent amount of coins for playing placement matches and for going up in divisions. Also there are just 30 games to play in Division Rivals so you can't spam games and lose and still get Rank 1.

Sure they fucked up some things like lag screen and servers going down, but (and I know this is kinda shit sentence) for EA criteria they have done a good job.

All in all I really enjoy playing this year. Having said all that I must admit I still didn't play WL, so maybe that is the reason :D

Actually kinda stoked on how my stadium is turning out - credit where credit is due, not too shabby EA.

I got suspended 7 days because my name was "EA is bad" lmao. Do I lose my club or is it just a temp ban?

The "Player Lock" new feature is pretty cool but I still can't understand why your opponent can see a white icon over your player every time you activate it. It's supposed to be a tool to surprise your opponents, right?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 05:37 PM PDT

Imagine that every time you are going to do a through pass or a skill move your opponent sees a colourful icon over your player's head before you do it. Then you can move your players accordingly. Every time I see the Player Lock icon in an opponent I know right away what he is planning to do.

EA have missed a great opportunity

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 06:24 AM PDT

I know everyone is kind of anti paying for FIFA points and spending money on packs.

But EA have an opportunity to do some good and maybe change a bit of their perspective.

Make a Hero Marcus Rashford card. Put him in packs for a week/weekend. And all money spent on FIFA points for packs to try and pack him, they donate the money to local food banks in the UK to help feed poor families and children in need.

Seems like such a missed opportunity by EA.

Fut live friendlies - max 70 pace squad

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 07:19 PM PDT

Pretty much as described you have squad requirements where you are only allowed players with max 70 pace. I think it would make a game mode where it becomes interesting and makes you play a totally different game compared to the meta. Would also make the teams you come up against varied and interesting. What you guys think?

Anyone else smash their placement games then been in free fall since?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 10:06 AM PDT

I managed to win 5/5 of my placement games and got put in division 2 at that point, and I knew I was in trouble as the highest I've ever got in FIFA is division 3 at best.

Since then I honestly can say I think I can count my wins in rivals/friendlies on one hand, decided to self relegate just so I can have fun playing the game as since they updated the friendlies matchmaking in coming up against consistently high division players also.

So if you play weekend league, it's basically impossible to get rank 1?

    Does anyone remember scenarios?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 06:13 AM PDT

I remember back in the glory days before FUT (FIFA 07) there used to be a mode where they would drop you into a famous game at a famous point, for example playing as Liverpool 0-3 down at half time, and ask you to complete the comeback.

Was thinking this could be a cool weekly objective in FUT, maybe for a player from one of the clubs. For example, they could drop your team, including at least 2 Barca players, into a game with 20 mins to go, needing 4 goals against PSG. This could reward you with an upgraded Sergi Roberto.

I bring it up because I was cleaning my cupboards and found an old PSP with FIFA 07 inside, and it still worked so I gave it a go. Wondering what everyone else thinks?
