An idea to end toxic celebrations

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 03:52 PM PST

I don't have a huge issue with celebrations personally but I must admit it does bother me when people use the really long ones or celebrate every single goal of a 5-0 win. I also know from this sub that it really bothers a lot of people.

So I had an idea to remove this issue.

What if, when you concede a goal, the conceding team gets their own set of controlable animations to watch? For example if you concede from a corner you could have an animation where your GK and CB are arguing. Or if you concede an early goal you could have your captain clapping his hands and hyping up your team to go again. Or if you concede a goal that looked a bit dodgy you could have your manager shouting at the 4th official. There could be multiple animations that you select yourself for soajy situations. And if you choose to skip it just shows your players walking back to the half way line until your opponent has skipped or watched their celebration.

I think this would totally remove any notion of toxic behaviour as people would know they are the only one seeing their celebration. It would also add a level of realism to the game and give you a cool animation to get yourself going after conceding.

Would love to know what people think of my idea!

I admit it, I was wrong about Golden Goal. It's the best thing to happen to the community. We're in this together.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 02:00 AM PST

I was wrong about GG, and I'm not afraid to admit it. The 1st batch of swaps, I didn't partake in it. I wanted to play with my cool squads and players I never used. If somebody's scored first on me I kept playing to try win without quitting. Normally they quit on me which was frustrating.

But I get it now. I was in the wrong and should have quit. I was actually wasting my own and their time by playing on. I was being petty about people pausing to make me quit and celebrating by refusing to quit and being a try hard.

Now, this lot of swaps are so so so shit I just want to get it done ASAP. At first last night I was trying to play properly, and got 1 win in almost 2 hours. I was getting stressed, raging and getting sent abuse. I thought fuck it let's do GG for the first time....

    1. 5 hours later I completed 2 batches of friendly tokens and this morning I've done the whole lot PLUS half the WL ones and now going onto squad battles...

I admit it. GG is the best thing that this community has done.

    Keep GGing and carry on!

Anyone else feel that the showdown SBCs should be player picks and use closer games?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 10:19 AM PST

Man City are 24 games unbeaten and have won 17 in a row. With 14 games to play they have a 99% chance of winning the league.

Meanwhile Gladbach have won 1 of their last 5 and just lost to 17th place Mainz.

What's the point? Five thirty eight has city at a 71% chance of winning the game, and that's much more generous to Gladbach than I thought.

The Golden Goal idea is great, but most of the community only follows it when it "benefits" them.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 10:36 AM PST

Here's my thoughts on it, first off the GG assumption is, and should be only an assumption, you should never get mad if your opponent decides to play out the match, also don't be annoying and pause first in an attempt to get your opponent to quit. However, I've noticed a vast difference when I did it with my good Serie A team (Moments Dybala, FB Cristiano, Duncan, etc...) and my very bad Ligue 1 team (Mbappe loan the rest are pretty bad bar 77 rated Simon) , I essentially did the Serie A one in 6 consecutive matches where I scored first and literally everyone forfeited, which is great mind you, but out of 6 times I've scored first with my Ligue 1 team which had the likes of common gold players and such, only 2 did GG, now this is on no way a rant because like I said every player has the right to play out the full game, but it's pretty ironic how most of the community preach for GG but some only follow it when the team they're up against is decent and will play out the whole match when it's a bad squad.

Icon Swaps have shown me just how bad Italian players are on this game.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 02:51 PM PST

Trying to complete the icon swaps with Italian players in my club is fucking painful. Simone zaza is absolutely the worst player I've ever played with. The defensive options are fucking abysmal too, my centre backs seem to have no legs, plus my wingers are about as pacey as aaron ramsey circa february 2010 and my goalkeeper quite literally has hinges for wrists. Luckily have Lasagna in my club, he's about the only shining light in this utter shit stained team.

Also, golden goal is an absolute life saver.

People who take ages in at the kit select - wtf are you doing?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 06:34 AM PST

Why does it take you 40 seconds to pick between two kits that no one other than yourself cares about? Just hurry up and press A so I can lose to you sooner

Last game to try to move up to the first division, we need 3 points, losing 1-2 at 91.

Icon SBCs were great not only because we could grind them

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 08:59 AM PST

But they also affected the icon prices on the market.

    1. If you packed an icon, even the baby Inzaghi, he still had some value, not 100k like in fifa 20

    2. Top tradeable icons were a lot more affordable and people could choose if they wanted to buy someone like Eusebio or grind his sbc.

Someone like mid R9, argubly the best icon in the game in fifa 20 and 21 at this time was like 8mil but in fifa 19 or 18 was somewhere around 4-5 and that's a big difference imo

Half the reason 5atb/drop back/low depth is so effective is because passing horizontally is absolutely broken

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 08:57 AM PST

Nerf skill moves and we have to actually have good build up play to break down a defence - I like the concept of that, this game shouldn't be about abusing skill moves that can trick the defensive AI but not your opponent.

The biggest problem with build up play in this game, however, is how bad the passing actually is. Specifically, passing horizontally. Forward passing isn't perfect, but it does work fine.

When your opponent plays low depth, drop back or 5atb the ability to make forward passes is significantly lowered and you need to rely on much more of a tiki-taka style to break down opponents. For whatever reason though, the sideways/horizontal passing in this game is inconsistent beyond belief. It's ridiculously in accurate even with the elite passers, simple passes are intercepted so easily and often the player can't even put the correct weight on the pass.

Honestly if EA could improve the success of horizontal passing these 'meta' formations wouldn't even be such an issue.

Please bring back more single player modes for FUT 22 EA

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 09:10 PM PST

I really miss the days of older fut where I could play single player seasons and single player tournaments. Contrary to popular opinion, I really find squad battles fun as you can play at your own skill level; but I do dislike being evaluated more on how many games I play as opposed to how well I play.

As someone who doesn't spend money on FIFA points and plays casually, rivals and FUT champs are a sweaty mess with horrible matchmaking and leaves me feeling frustrated when video games are for stress relief.

In older FIFA games, just the single player variety of seasons and tournaments and the element of building a fantasy team was enough to get me hooked.

Please EA, bring back or come up with some new single player modes for FUT 22.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2021 04:57 PM PST

I did him originally did him as he linked with aouar and depay for that weekend but planned on dropping him.

Then I packed neymar and kept using him but waiting just to block neymar in with icons

But here I am,100 odd games later very glad i did him, and despite the arrival of swaps he still sits there in my cdm spot
