Icon pack weight should be higher Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:19 PM PST "Do you want everyone running around with Prime Cruyff?!?!" No, that's not what I'm saying, but icon pack weight should be higher. I've played FUT for 3+ years since icons came to PS4, and in that entire time I've packed 4 icons (Base Shearer, Base Pires, Base Trezeguet, and Mid Socrates). Many people have never gotten one outside of guaranteed icon packs. Do icons really need to be this scarce? Most icons are not a huge upgrade over easily accessible gold, promo, SBC, and objective cards. If EA are going to make a 91 Dybala available to the whole community for 190k in assets, what's the justification for making Baggio, Zola, and Hagi almost impossible to pack? They're arguably not any better in game. Obviously the elite icons like Eusebio and Gullit should be very difficult to obtain like CR7 and Neymar, but there are so many mediocre low-mid tier icons that can hardly get into teams, yet are still so rare that you might only pack one during the whole game cycle if you play regularly. This really hurts variety, because if everyone can go out and complete a Klaiber or Dybala SBC, yet nobody is packing icons, then you're just not going to see a lot of variation in teams. Mid-level cards like Gerrard, Nedved, Zambrotta, and Campbell are almost never going to be used because they're nearly impossible to pack whereas you can easily go get Gomez, Mendy, Bruno, etc. So who are you going to see in WL and DR? The same faces all the time. The same basic gold meta cards and value SBCs. It gets a little stale. EA could add some flavor to squad building by relaxing the forced scarcity of all the mediocre icons that have very little demand in the first place (i.e. Rui Costa, Hagi, Hierro, Laudrup, and so many others). Silver Stars like Adeyemi, Wamangituka, Romero, Kean are also on the list and I can confirm they do count. No weaknesses or reason to use one over another except links, skills/wf. I feel that used to happen only after tots, but in a few years, it's now in the middle of the game's cycle.
