    Hello everyone,

    Over the years, people have asked as to why we hadn't created an Official Discord Server for the sub as most big gaming subreddits tend to have one.

    At first, we didn't consider this as an option as another FIFA related server already existed and even though we didn't have any ties to it, people were using it as we used to have an invite link in our sidebar a couple of years ago.

    As of yesterday, it was brought to our attention that this server was breached and that a lot of people lost their access so we decided to finally pull the trigger and create the Official Discord server for r/FIFA.

    The server is new so we will need your help with suggestions on how to improve it and make it a fun user experience for everyone.

    I'm sorry but this is fking ridiculous right now. Every game is just rubberband and afk.

    No one is even quitting just fking afk and wasting others time.

    I'd rather play golden goal than this shit.

    Ea has to stop making us to "score in" or "play x".

    Had to rant because I'm sitting there for like 2 hours and pretty much every game is this.

    it's ridiculous how much this happens when you're asking your player base to play 10 games a day, and then not be able to even guarantee that your servers will allow that to happen

    So annoying when your subs have a low rating for penalties and they get to shoot them first. Why can't we choose the pen takers ourselves, is that too much to ask for? How is this acceptable in an competitive mode?

    Quick tip for G3 players

    Hi. I'm 43 year old with a wife and 2 little ones. It would normally take me 26-28 or so games to the G3. I simply don't have time to play all 30 games so what I do is rubber band the first 8 games whilst getting dinner etc so my ELO is -8. Makes the road to G3 on Saturday / Sunday night when I do play really easy thereafter and can be done in the next 16-18 games or so.

    Couple of SB tips - when saving a penalty, pause the game just as the AIs foot is about to make contact with the ball. You can see which way the ball will go by the positioning of the foot.

    When scoring a penalty, do a paneka into the corner, tapping the shoot button. Even if the AI goes the right way, they rarely save it.

    A friend of mine just pulled Johan Cryuff from the Prime Icon SBC.

    To go with Prime Maradona from the Icon Pick and Prime Puskas from the Mid/Prime.

    Also packed THREE what if players (Smalling the best) and a tradeable FS Fati on the first day of the promo (worth 4 million).

    This is just over two months. He also seems to get at a minimum high rated fodder from any decent pack.

    Meanwhile im getting nothing above 84 from ultimate packs and mid Bastian.

    We both play equally ( a lot) but his luck just seems out of this world.

    What do we think affects this?

    just want to preface by saying the way i see the meta in general is i don't blame the players at all for playing to it, at face value winning is way more fun than losing- it's on EA for making the meta become so crucial to expediting success/rewards.

    every year there's a meta, but the thing i'm noticing this year more than others is it keeps moving. in other cycles there were new players which would be OP, but the tactics were generally the same- or would have maybe two phases. this year, first it was drop back 1 depth 442, then it was 5 at the back, now it's fullbacks in place of CBs. earlier today in my WL i played a drop back 5atb with only one official CB surrounded by fullbacks- i should've won a free shirt for filling the meta bingo card.

    whether it be the continued growth of streaming causing new blueprints for success to become more mainstream at a faster clip, the gameplay itself getting more one dimensional with updates, or a mix of that + other stuff- the game has been all over the place on the gameplay side but also in the player team building side.

    i know it's just a game for fun but the time and money we plug in each cycle gives us some sort of investment in the quality of product, even if it's just shouting into the EA void. the root of everything is that the desperation for WL rewards and packs is turning it into a hollow grind where the foundational parts of the actual sport (positions, somewhat simulating tactics, etc.) are becoming less and less important- again, i know it's just a game for fun not meant to be a dead on simulation but come on, it's getting pretty wild. i can still stay staying competitive generally but after those tough losses you feel the bug creeping in that says "come on just fuck it, knock depth down some and slide berchiche to CB." but by the time i cave and do it it will have shifted to playing STs as sweeper keepers or something.

    overall i just worry about what's happening to this game i've always enjoyed for years- i miss the simple times practicing rainbow flicks with Ronaldinho in the arena or doing online head to head tournaments, long before the loading screens with promo advertisements and pack sales

    I don't know if it's just my gameplay tonight but has anyone been facing issues with the player switching and the passing? I have the player switch indicator on and I swear every time I press to switch player it will always pick any player but the one indicating. Ive ended up trying to use the right stick to switch player and that seems to always select someone who's miles away and not involved with the play. It's not usually like this.

    Also, the passing seems really off as well tonight. The problem for me isn't the accuracy (although there's times where the ball has gone into the complete different direction to where I aimed) but the game isn't registering the power. I've had so many passes either not reach a player when there's no reason not to or where the ball is literally moving at 5 mph. I've even had a moment where I went to through ball it and my striker ended up passing to himself and went on to score. Could it be connectivity issues?

    (Here I've tried to put the whole 'EA is greedy' aspects aside for a minute, hope yout don't mind)

    I'm not saying it neccessarily IS good content, also I would never dream of defending EA in any way, shape or form. However, regardless of how you personally rate the content they're giving out, you could still see that they ARE trying to achieve SOMETHING. They're usually pretty far off from what people want and expect, however If you look at the amount of cards given out these days (regardless if they're under the power curve etc) it's crazy to say the least. Just compare to 3-4 years ago. Almost EVERY rare gold card has some kind of special card at this point.

    Also through objectives, EA creates ways for us to obtain a huge chunk of these cards in various game modes. Managerial Masterpiece is one perfect example. Scrolling trough milestones, season objectives and weekly objectives there are TONS of different tasks to obtain in a lot of different ways. Sure, people barely care about these things, but they're still there.

    I don't know but sometimes it feels like people forget that this is a video game and that content given out, mainly should and will be about people playing the god damn game. It also feels like people hype up every promo thinking there will be something 'out of this world' every time. Promo's will always be about colorful and shiny cards to either buy with coins or pack/get as rewards. That's it. Content will never be more than that.

    I will probably get a lot of stick for this post so I'll go and hide now lol :) I just had to reflect on my daily dose of scrolling through twitter-mentions seeing people hating on content to the extent it almost seems like there IS not content at all :)

    It’s kind of funny how two halves of a Fifa match feel like completely different games.

    Beating a guy 2-0 at half time, he gets a red card while I'm through on goal (fuckhead) and gets 2 free kicks saved off the line. Half time, I've got 9 shots, he's got one with his mid Eusebio and Cantona. 2nd half starts, he gets one back with a pass across to Eusebio from the end line. Then the game completely shifts in his favor. My players can't make a pass, can't dribble, and can't defend to save their lives. I lose 3-2, he has 5 total shots and I have 12. Game feels completely different from half to half, which is something I think only happens like one in 20 games in real life. This game… is shit.
