| Posted: 15 Mar 2021 07:19 PM PDT I'm in Div 1 with a SR of 2264, and recently I seem to be getting a fair few messages from people complaining that I'm playing drop back when in reality I play a 3-5-2 with 8 depth and press on heavy touch. But alas, what tends to happen is that my opponent gets into my half - passes - does six fake shots against the air - runs down the line - croqueta cancels - and then invariably loses the ball because it's fairly easy to read, or I just block the play. I don't really know why people who play like this feel they are reputable in some way. You're not a football purist for skilling the air, nor are you entitled to a win because you can chain 4 skill moves against the air. Perhaps if you passed the ball quicker, you would create more opportunities, I don't know. But I'm fairly tired of the few messages I get now and again. I get AI defending is broken, but not everyone plays 5ATB against you. A lot do, I know the game is mechanically fucked. But please drop the prestige for knowing how to skill empty space. | Free packs out of nowhere in the club? Posted: 15 Mar 2021 08:29 AM PDT Anybody can login into the web-app and check if they have some packs out of nowhere? I was selling my consumables and saw that I have highlighted store. Went to check it and there is 50k pack, few 25k packs, one 100k packs and others. WTH :o EDIT: https://imgur.com/a/Muvh3Pf In total something around ~600k-700k worth of packs out of nowhere, without any message or any explanation. I have no idea what happened but I'm happy I got to restock my club. | Hit my first ever Elite 1 this weekend! Team, tactics, and info in post. Posted: 15 Mar 2021 08:53 AM PDT Hey everyone, As a member of the 30+ FIFA club, I don't have a ton of friends that play FIFA, so I wanted to share my excitement here. This weekend, I hit my first ever Elite 1 in FUT Champs! I still feel like I'm fairly far behind verified players, as Elite 3 was my previous best and probably still a more reasonable expectation going forward. But still, the stars aligned this weekend, and I'm going to celebrate it! TeamThis is the starting formation for my team, but don't be concerned! I don't play 5 ATB! 95% of the time I play a 4-4-2 (2) with the following setup:

I know the team is pretty META, but it's a balance of the way I enjoy playing (I'm a 5/5 snob up front... Cantona will be Cruyff soon enough) and also trying to be smart/efficient with coins (Salah, Mendy, Varane, Jones, Boateng all first owner untradeable, all others are tradeable) MVPs: Neymar and TOTY Davies hands down. Cantona was my top goal scorer, but he still always feels like he could do better. Neymar on the other hand feels like he never puts a foot wrong or a good shot wide. Then there's TOTY Davies. The dude is an absolute mad-man. He's all over the pitch; epitome of box-to-box. Countless times he's in or near the opponent's box making a key pass, then also the first player back on defense to break up a counter. One of the few players that will be guaranteed to stay in my team until TOTS. TacticsAs I mentioned above, I play 4-4-2 (2) most of the time, and these are my tactics unless chasing a game late: Defense
Offense
Nothing super fancy here, but the two things I will highlight: 7 depth and press after possession loss. The 7 depth is big for auto offside traps when defending in your box. Keeps possession players from having an open turn-and-shoot type of pass in the middle of the box. And press after possession loss is also great against MOST opponents. It's an easy way to get goals vs players that panic once they recover possession. That said, if the opponent is smart and I can tell they know how to play out of it well, I go to balanced defense. And finally, if I'm trailing late, I go to 4-1-2-1-2 (wide version) with attacking fullbacks, 10 depth, and constant pressure. Pretty basic stuff. Player Instructions
I love to play through balls down the wings and attack from the flanks first, then back out and go through the center if I need to. So get in behind wherever possible is my go to with pacey wide players. I don't have the glitched through ball to strikers mastered as a result, but this is more fun to me. I also tend to be a possession player. I know that's infuriating to some, but to me it's the most fun way to play. I love the feeling of trying to break down a defense like a puzzle. So for me that means holding the ball and trying to find the hidden pass that unlocks the whole thing for a tap-in. That means having CDMs on balanced (rather than stay back) is crucial. I need them involved in the attack for more passing options, and they're pacey enough to recover on counters most of the time. ConclusionIf you read this much, I thank you. Have I mastered the bridge? Naaah I'm still shit in all that barely hitting 19 wins in WL. Looking forward to be bitchslapped back where I belong in div 3 or 2. (a big thanks to everyone posting tactics and ideas that deviate a bit from the 5 atb, varane, mbappe, neymar, mendy extravaganza). Sometimes, when I pressure an opponent with L2 and they play a 1-2, my defender will do this little lunge and freeze to let the opponent get in behind. It's basically a free goal every time. Anybody else noticing this? I don't know what to do - I'm definitely not going to play a game that auto-tackles so I can't pressure a player. Can someone help? Thanks? [link] [comments] |
| Auto anything needs toning down Posted: 15 Mar 2021 09:13 AM PDT The fact you don't need to press anything for the most OP part of the game to take effect is mind boggling and is still a thing 6 months into the game. Nothing wrong with players attempting to blocked but it needs to be triggered and timed the same way as a tackle, pass or any other part of the game works [link] [comments] |
