Imagine the stress taken out of WL if quitting games lowered your ELO

    Posted: 22 May 2021 05:13 AM PDT

Why is this so clearly not the case? WL would be so much easier and relaxing if I didn't have to finish out these games against elite players where I'm just getting battered. It's just wasting everyone's time. And if I do quit guess whose waiting for me...another crazy good player

EA need to do a madness and release a 99 RB Card

Out of all 28 OTW players, only two: Hakimi and Suarez have received more than one upgrade in ~34 weeks.

    Posted: 22 May 2021 07:12 AM PDT

It's a bit odd that the marquee players for the season, especially someone like Suarez, who is helping lead Athletico to a title challenge, only got 2 informs in over 30 weeks of FIFA. Along with this, EA is making the early OTW cards that many people have obsolete by introducing SBCs of those same players with much higher stats like Tonali or Suarez. Kind of a dick move bro.

Sorry for the pointless post, it just makes me irrationally annoyed.

Is it just me that thinks that L1/LB player changing is absolutely horrific this year?

    Posted: 22 May 2021 06:10 PM PDT

I play fifa since 13, always used L1/LB. But in this game its simply impossible. At the beginning of the year i was suffering with it, so i had to learn how to change with right stick. Recently, i decided to use L1/LB to see if it was fixed or something, but it was absolutely brutal. Anyone else felt it being extremely shit this year?

Does anybody else think player reviews in this sub kinda suck?

    Posted: 22 May 2021 07:47 PM PDT

I swear to god, every review of any player here is just a bunch of hyperbole and outrageous claims. Every player is a 10/10, everybody feels lighting fast, they all could destroy a military bunker with one of their shots, and so on

I'm yet to see someone say something like "Eh, his passing is fine, he gives the ball away too much when rushed by a really fast defender 7/10" or "his shooting is really good but he will probably miss shots if you get them in an awkward position with their weak foot 8/10" which is much closer to reality in my opinion.

And speaking of reviews, to any youtuber who might read this: showing a bunch of clips of a player scoring the same goals after a through ball or a cutback and saying "yeah guys this card is a legit beast definitely get him" isn't that much of a great review either.

How do pro players manage to go 30-0 consistently?

    Posted: 22 May 2021 05:05 PM PDT

I get that they are literally the best of the best but there is just so much rng in this game and that rng can gets exploited so much and these guys still manage to not lose a single game? Probably the most impressive things I've ever seen.

I don’t even know what this game is. It just feels wrong.

    Posted: 22 May 2021 07:01 PM PDT

After coming up against skill canceling, directional nutmegging, constant pressing sweat lords all WL, I was down to my last game to reach Gold 2. I go up 2-0 from some good play and then came constant pressure. Next thing I know I'm down 4-2 in the blink of an eye. I work my way back to 4-4. Stoppage time I work my way into the box and get a slight nudge for a soft penalty. I score it to make it 5-4. Opponent ball rolls and scoop turns with every fiber of his being deep into stoppage time and is awarded a soft penalty after I block a shot that went right back to him....I save the fucking penalty. I place my controller down and realize I feel so dirty. Everything feels wrong with this game. Not a single aspect makes sense or resembles football. I think this might be my last fifa for a while. It just doesn't bring happiness. Only pain and suffering. I feel like fucking Anakin Skywalker after his mother dies. Jesus Horacio Christ. Someone help me.

Has anyone else like me just never got to grips with FIFA 21 gameplay?

    Posted: 22 May 2021 04:06 PM PDT

Almost June and I still don't understand this game.

I've been consistently Elite 3 since FIFA 17 but on 21 I'm Gold 1. Had a few E3 finishes but I wouldn't ever bank on getting it. I'm always between 20-23.

    Things I just can't grasp -

PASSING: My biggest problem. My style was always tiki-taka. The passing on this game is bizarre. Why are simple 5 yard balls are regularly under hit or misplaced? Is it a fault with me, my players or the game itself?

DRIBBLING: My second biggest problem. I used to do alot of left stick dribbling but on this game even players like Neymar takes sluggish loose touches with the left stick. I've tried and completely failed to incorporate 'agile dribbling' and all sorts of skill moves, none of which really work much.

BEING CLINICAL: It takes me at least 3 clear cut chances to score a goal whereas all my opponents seem to score every single time they get even a half chance. This is a huge downfall for me, I lose so many games I've dominated but just can't score.

LUCK: Seems a weird one to include but it's genuinely a problem. If there's ever any BS that's going to happen in the game, it invariably happens against me not for me. I think it must be due to something about my playstyle which draws BS scenarios. So often my opponent has been given a couple of goals they've done nothing themselves to create.

Convicted Midfield Criminal: An early review of Flashback Nainggolan

    Posted: 22 May 2021 07:19 PM PDT

Alright, so, in introduction, I play a 3-5-2, and every 3-5-2 requires a couple of powerful midfielders to run the figurative engine. Naturally, when EA dropped a flashback Radja Nainggolan, I decided it was fate and completed him to throw into my squad.

They offered a pretty fair price for their annual juiced Radja card, and in the 8 games I played with him, he racked up 4 goals and 5 assists- a very respectable total for a striker, let alone a cdm.

Pace: 9/10. Radja is quite quick for a midfielder, but his real strength lies in his rapid direction-changing ability. In the time it takes for an opposing midfielder to attempt a pass, Radja can stop on a dime, reverse directions to intercept the pass, then whip around and pick the dime back up for good measure.

Shooting: 9/10. Holy fuck, this guy can kick a ball. As a cdm, albeit an aggressive one, I only created a couple shooting chances a game for him. Despite that, his conversion rate was exceptional on either foot. His weak foot is clearly compensated for somewhat by the fact that the ball breaks the sound barrier as soon as he strikes it. If it's on target, he'll rip a hole in the back of the net, as well as whoever is unlucky enough to be in the way.

Passing: 9/10. No complaints here! Radja's passing can be compared to the postal service: Whether rain, snow, sleet, or Varane breathing down your neck, the pass will be delivered. Something about him makes him nearly impossible to knock off his game, and his passes reflect this attribute. I neglected to give him a 10/10 only because he does have a 3* weak foot, and it might become noticeable in the future, although I haven't noticed any problems so far.

Dribbling: 9/10. He was way better at this than I thought he'd be. Turns well, moves fast, and keeps the ball reasonably close to his body. His real dribbling power comes in the form of his nasty personality and refusal to lose. If a defender knocks Radja off the ball, he will immediately climb onto their back and flay the skin off their bones to get the ball back. He's evil and does evil things to keep the ball.

Defending: 10/10. Radja's habit of gnawing on the viscera-covered bones of his opponent really shines when he doesn't have the ball. You see, he wants the ball. Really, really, REALLY, wants the ball. And what he wants, he'll get. By any means necessary. The things I've seen him do in these paltry 9 games to obtain possession are so dark and twisted, I cannot bear to even mention them... In summary, Nainggolan will perform ungodly acts to get the ball back, and the referee won't do anything because he's shit-scared of him as well.

Physical: 9.5/10. His 83 Strength isn't world-ending, but that's negated by his demented personality. He might fail to knock them off the ball the first time, but how about the next 5 attempts per second he makes, complete with scratching, biting, and nipple-twisting? Radja also has infinite stamina to pair, making infinite attacks in an unending cycle until he succeeds. With Radja, it's not a question of will he get the ball, but when will he get it.

Overall: 9.5/10. What a fucking monster, my god. The simplest way to describe him is a Hyena. That is, if the Hyena was afflicted with Rabies and subsisting entirely off of a diet of Red Bull and Anabolic Steroids... I've never seen a card so defined by a stat as this one, where his ridiculous aggression underlines every action he performs. Does anything and everything to win, a true master of the dark arts.

Why do my players some games make awful/barely any runs?

    Posted: 22 May 2021 03:50 PM PDT

I feel like some games my players are making amazing runs in behind and darting forward. Yet some games I trigger a run and they'll start the run but just stop after a couple strides?? Why is that? Is this just down to gameplay or is it opponents tactics?
