Does anyone else not like playing high level fifa? Posted: 05 Jun 2021 02:08 PM PDT To preface I'm a Gold 3 player with games to spare or Gold 2 if I really wanna grind out every game. Which is seems to be about average I guess, in comparison with everyone else. I like being there an honestly I don't really want to get better. My reasoning is the higher the rank you go the less the game resembles football. Went like +7 on fut champs at one point last week which is not something I normally do. The amount of bullshit was too much for me. The broken skill move spamming, fullback meta, etc. You get the point, it been stated a million times here. I don't really care if people play like that, the meta is the meta and some people love the competitive nature it brings. Playing that way is just way to exhausting for me. I find the games where I'm even in wins and losses the most fun. My advice, is if your like me don't get to worked up about it. Play the way that you find fun with the players you enjoy. Bullshit will happen regardless, the rewards end up sucking half the time anyway and your team will never be "good enough". You'll always want more. I got lucky enough to get red TOTS lewa at gold 3. Yes he's a great card and I have fun using him. But is he worth the mental strain some people but on themselves and the hundreds of dollars of packs you may have to open? No Hopefully this was helpful to someone. [link] [comments] |
EOAE Cards should be permanently available Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:48 PM PDT Hi just a shower thought, EOAE SBCs like Aguero and Javi Martinez should have no expiry because we are celebrating their footballing career right? So everybody can have the opportunity to join in the celebration with these cards. Another idea I have is to put these EOAE cards in milestones, and like those objective upgrade players, give us an objective that makes us use Baby, Mid, Prime Aguero to achieve the EOAE Aguero to celebrate their career, similar to the summer heat objective players from fifa20 [link] [comments] |

Is there anything more terrifying in FUT... Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:44 AM PDT Than accidentally sending a 'friend' a Co-op invitation? [link] [comments] |
My forwards have a little game they play with me Posted: 05 Jun 2021 11:12 AM PDT It just seems they love to start making a run and the second i play a ball through to them and then they instantly stop and look at me like i just booted it straight out of play. Why is this a thing [link] [comments] |
There should be a friendly mode where every player has 1 Star Skill Moves Posted: 04 Jun 2021 10:31 PM PDT Half of the people I came up against this WL literally don't move without using skill moves, they don't run they just skill their way through in the midfield. I stopped playing rivals because I reached division 1 and everyone is using skill moves and everyone uses directional nutmegs, every single person. I hate skill moves, I used to love skill moves when it was done to look good. Using skill moves was a disadvantage, but if you pulled them off at the right time they would look smooth. I just want to play the game peacefully where no one can use skill moves. I get that is the meta now, and I fucking accepted it. Let people use it as much as they want. Edit: Apparently "Skillers" took this post personally, many are commenting that I just need to git gud. I get that it's the meta. I love fifa but I just don't have much time in my life to waste it on learning skill moves on FIFA, plus VOLTA is where the skills should be important not here. You do your thing buddy, do skill moves, I don't have time to learn it and I just don't like it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:15 PM PDT FUT has been a part of gamers' lives for over 12 years now. What started as a free download for FIFA 09 users has quickly blossomed into one of the most profitable videogame modes of all time. Over the years, the gamemode has become less of a fun distraction and more of a real-time squad management sim. As devoted Ultimate Team managers, we are all innately aware of when EA drops content in our respective time-zones. We all grind through painful Weekend League's, hoping for an insane Red Pick that will never come. It's true - FUT has become more detailed, nuanced and meatier over the last decade. But while fans undoubtedly appreciate an increase in content and options, the game mode has shifted into something inherently more competitive, complicated and demanding. If you want to have a great Ultimate Team by the end of the year, you have to put in the time. Or, as EA might prefer, your credit card information. FUT in itself, generates hundreds of millions of dollars for EA every year. It has employed dozens of content creators and streamers for years. It is, by definition, it's own niche industry. No ones knows that better than EA. Over the years, we've seen continuous innovation and partnerships when it's come to in-game content. What started as a simple card-collecting gamemode has now become a melting pot of professional football and video-game culture, as EA have utilized the success of the gamemode to bring in big-name partnerships for FIFA. Ranging from Dua Lipa in Volta to playing against R9's hand-selected Ultimate Team in Squad Battles, FUT is an extremely successful outlet for digital marketing and social media content. The continued and reliable success of YouTubers and streamers associated with the game, some of them for the better part of the last decade, affirms this point even further. FUT literally employs a large handful of individuals, people who are paid comfortably to play the same game every day that they've already been playing every day for years. My point is, FUT would not have the gravity, digital reach or entertainment-value to get where it is today if not for the sheer profitability of the game-mode. This is hand-tailored by EA, who make every decision with a profit margin in mind. Will including this player in the TOTW sell more FIFA Points, even if he had a worse weekend than this player? Should we fix content or connection issues as quickly as we fix issues that prevent our users from spending money on our game? Not only do EA make conscious, episodic decisions in the aim to make more money, I would argue that there are much deeper decisions that are made when FIFA is designed each year and FUT is structured anew. Terms like "handicapping," "momentum," and "scripting" have all been terms thrown around over the years, and you would be hard-done by if you tried to find a devoted FUT fan who didn't think they existed in FIFA. EA doesn't care if you have fun with their game, they just want you to spend more money. Thus, they've created an insanely addicting style of gameplay, a game where each stroke of skill or genius is being pitted against the engine and mechanics of the game itself. What I mean by this is: You will score an incredibly satisfying goal as often as you concede a completely avoidable and messy goal. At this stage of the year in FUT, the gameplay doesn't feel rewarding, the rewards and team-building is what's rewarding. Scoring a good goal in WL is only a relief at this point, as it's your defense against the shitty kick-off goal your opponent is about to score on you. When you pair this type of clunky gameplay with a mode where having better players translates to smoother animations and touches, it's not far-fetched that EA "script" their game so users constantly feel as-if their team is inadequate and needs improving. FUT becoming competitive, both on the E-Sports level and within the Weekend League, is what's ultimately changed Ultimate Team forever. What would happen if you take a volatile game, one with unrewarding gameplay that leaves you feeling constantly underwhelmed with your team, and make it competitive with elite player-rewards? You're basically throwing gas on a fire. At this point, EA are manipulating their audiences even further, as they are now pushing a culture of toxicity and unoriginality. In an unrewarding and inconsistent game-mode, margins are everything. With rewards on the line, players have resorted to some of the most anti-football tactics I have ever seen in FUT 21. The game is supposed to be more realistic than ever, but it's never felt more arcadey and forced. Users don't play to have fun, play beautifully or even try their favorite players out anymore - we've all become little Mourinho's where winning, at any cost, is the only priority. My only worry is that EA seem to be doubling-down on this direction. With every passing year, FUT looks less and less like it did the first year we all respectively fell in love with it. As a new generation enters the scene, I'm worried FIFA will never be the same again. TLDR; As FUT has grown in popularity over the last decade and been able to reach newer audiences, EA have shifted the structure of the game from a relaxing card-collector to a competitive chore, a game where making money is ingrained in every technical and content decision. This has in-turn made the game-base toxic, a direction I fear we'll never turn back from. [link] [comments] |
I’m about to play 30 games of Ultimate TOTS WL b2b Posted: 05 Jun 2021 10:22 PM PDT The alarm was set for 6AM UK time. (Currently 06:16) The coffee has been made, the ice has been injected into the veins. I am about to embark on the most difficult of all mental challenges available to a mere mortal in the Fifa scene. For context I am a E3 player on Xbox Series X using the next gen gameplay if the games go my way. But for time constraints last week I finished 17-3. (I'm a maths teacher) I am going to track every game score and W/L ratio and see what effect 30 games b2b during Ultimate TOTS has on me. Does anyone have a good iOS app to track WL by the way? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
PIM Drogba, Campbell and Pirlo all expire in 20 hours Posted: 05 Jun 2021 01:07 PM PDT Suuuuurely some new icons tomorrow? Yes? No? Probably not [link] [comments] |
Who are the best CBs you have used in this Fifa? Posted: 05 Jun 2021 04:43 PM PDT And I don't mean fullbacks at CB. I mean, actual CBs at CB. EDIT: Seems like Ruben Dias the most popular one here. [link] [comments] |

Friendly reminder: This is the most important WL in the cycle, so... Posted: 05 Jun 2021 11:10 AM PDT Please give away your spare games if you can't hit the next rank. Even if you're tired, in a hurry or mad because you just lost because of the usual BS. It only takes 5 minutes and can make a big difference for somebody else. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:52 PM PDT Yes this is your daily Reddit rant that you get from this subreddit. I'm so sick of staying stuck in gold 3. I started playing fut last may and it's just been 4 weeks straight of gold 3. This week I had my best chance of getting gold 2 where in my last 5 games I needed to go 3-2. I bottled and lose 3 straight, 2 of which I should've won. Overall there's been so many dumb games where I feel like I had no control. Again, I know it's just the usual "take a break from this stupid game it's not ur fault" but I'm just so sick of all of it. I just wanted to let all of this out cuz this game simply just pisses me off. I hate this game I truly do, but this damn thing called football is preventing me from stopping . If there's any tips to get out of this shit hole (gold 3) I'll gladly take em. Thank you for listening to my ted talk. [link] [comments] |
What’s a good formation for breaking down defensive set ups? Posted: 05 Jun 2021 05:59 PM PDT Finding scoring goals ridiculously hard this week, what formations/tactics are you guys having some success with against the very defensive back 5 type games? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:53 AM PDT |
FB Renato Sanches is the single most broken card I've come up against. Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:12 AM PDT I hate this card more than the glitchy forwards who win the ball back instantly. All people need to do is hold L2 and jockey with him and he runs faster than the ball rolls. Its almost impossible to make triangles and play around him he just speeds up to the ball receiver before they can even take control of the ball and even if you do manage to get the ball there's a barge from behind imminent which is somehow legal. I've come up against him in 5 games in a row now and the experience has made me stop for the day. I'm out here trying to make gaps and triangles for my players to run into yet this ridiculously broken card can just run around in circles defying the laws of physics. Most of the time they dont even need to switch to their back four to defend. I just dont get how the bare minimum of him running around in circles is so rewarding. I know you can do this with other players however none of them have the effectiveness of 90 mins as this broken as hell card has. [link] [comments] |

Unethical pro-tip: use your top tier loan players this WL Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:24 PM PDT My loan R9 and Maradona just clinched me my G1 finish. With Ultimate TOTS being in red this week, it might be worth using your loan Messi and Maradona. You might receive hate messages from your opponents, but well, this game is all about winning isn't it. [link] [comments] |
People need to understand the difference between overpriced and expensive. Posted: 04 Jun 2021 11:12 PM PDT So many comments on all possible platforms claim Flashback Dembele is overpriced and it just blows my mind. First off, the other top-tier right mids/wingers are no less than a million on the market (prime Best and Garrincha), with their moments card, TOTS Sancho and TOTY Messi all being 2,5 million at least. This means the positiin is very rare and is lacking high-end cards. Only comparable ppayer price-wise is TOTS Salah, who is about the same value as Dembele. Secondly, Dembele has incredible attacking, passing and dribbling stats, his stamina has been boosted, is 5/5 with a unique body type. Additionally, fodder is very low now, everyone has many unneeded TOTS cards, which makes completing the SBC much easier. And even if the value was around the 900k-mark, it would've been good. It's not overpriced at all, just expensive, but what do you really expect for an endgame player? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:28 PM PDT So I have all the icon swaps 3 I am able to collect rn and I was wondering if it was worth investing all of into the 92+ Prime Icon or 92+ Icon Moments.... I think since 92+ Icon Moments means that it filters out 90% of the junk icon cards so I'm more likely to get a better card compared to 92 Prime Icon but I wanted your opinions [link] [comments] |
This game doesn’t reward really football tactical thinking Posted: 05 Jun 2021 01:51 AM PDT I think the problem with this game is it isn't really grounded in reality anymore. It's all about learning the meta and abusing it. It would be much more fun if passing, crossing and other parts of football were more viable. For example;
I don't think I've ever played a game with so many fundamental issues. If you take it for what it is it's okay. But as a football fan, it really sucks. The game is far too frantic. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2021 08:31 AM PDT Yesterday I play 433(5) and i'm 4/9, the worst start i ever got. Today I switch to 352 and i'm 17/11, the best come back of all time. I feel 5 in center can win the ball with heavy pressure tactic and do a good fast counter game. And also CDMs are a good barrier that can protect CBs from skill spamming. [link] [comments] |
