Instead of releasing Kit SBCs on national holidays I wish they'd release a Player SBC for that nation

And you thought there was no diving in FIFA

Hoping we get this for the PL PoTM in Feb

There should be an indicator showing whether you are in possession of the ball to avoid unintentional actions

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:32 AM PST

Very simple to implement, e.g. slightly paler red when you don't have the ball, brighter red when the game thinks you control the ball during possession transitions.

Problem is that this happens in potentially game changing situations, some examples:

    1) Attempting lobbed pass after dispossessing the opponent but defender slide tackles instead. This can lead to a free kick/penalty or losing possession and conceding.

    2) Striker tackling a defender when pressing, but the game thinks that you are in possession so the striker shoots instead. Had he not taken a shot, it's potentially a dangerous attack.

There are many more that happen in the centre of the pitch which are annoying but not as game changing.

Edit: to clarify, it's easier to think of it as an indicator of whether your button presses relate to offensive actions or defensive actions.

So if you passed the ball, your buttons are still in "offensive" mode, if you press shoot before the player received a pass, it will register as a shot, not as a tackle.

Similarly if you are chasing a loose ball with an opponent's player also trying to get there, you are not sure whether you pressing square will result in an offensive acrion (lobbed pass) or a defensive action (slide tackle)

Surely EA must see a pro player (Boris) preferring to use full backs as CBs and see they have a problem

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:54 AM PST

An 83 mendy and an SBC Dutch player 90% of us hadn't heard of perform better at CB than prime puyol, hierro, Nesta, Moore, baresi. When will this be addressed ? If ever?!

You should always get more rivals points for losing an actual rivals game than from a champs game

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 06:20 PM PST

    That's it. That's the post.

The fact that you can rubberband your controller and get 400 points from champs or toil away for a whole game, lose, and only get 150 points is ridiculous.

The Dybala player moments card is literally a cheat code

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 07:16 PM PST

Once he is behind your defence he is gone, even at 5 chem as a sub. His pace and dribbling is unbelievable.

Amazing value for money I'd say.

Slow yourself down, it’ll help more than you think.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 11:23 AM PST

After analysing my gameplay compared to a pro. I noticed that they play at quite a methodically slow speed but they still keep the game moving forward.

This was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me, you realise how many opportunities and runs you don't see, because you are in this haze of going as fast as possible, with as many skill moves as you can do, not realising you are white knuckling your controller.

I now notice my opponents and how fast they move and it's incredibly predictable and easy to shut down.

Slowing down and remaining calm has changed everything. I recommend it. Also let go of that sprint button.

Too bad EA seems to have forgotten about Squad Foundation cards...

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 01:25 PM PST

...as I like these cards a lot. Smaller leagues, lower rated cards usable doing different objectives etc. Also the occasional monster usable in bigger occasions.

Did these a couple of weeks ago so perhaps the rating should be upped a bit, but you get the picture :)

Fifa needs player performance clarity, what are your thoughts on RPG-style traits?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 02:04 PM PST

Hi guys, my inspiration from this post comes from one-to-many situations where Varane or Joao Felix perform some black magic and phaseshifit through time and space to beat my attacker/defender. Is it DDA, scripting, hidden stats? We'll never know...One thing we know for sure is that body type has a huge impact on how a player performs.

Furthermore, I've seen posts here calling for a rework of certain stats (pace, passing), chemistry revamp or cancellation and more general clarity of what does what. With this game trying to be an e-sport like LoL or other big games I thought a new system could not only give us transparency on the players, but also hugely increase the viability of some 'unplayable' ones.

In RPGs you can often get traits which will increase damage by 10%, but decrease attack speed by 5%. What if icons and top player got those traits? There could be a set of around 20-30 and they would work similarly to chem styles, but they would be locked to each player. Below a few trait examples:

    1. Divock Origi (Supersub) - begins games on 10 chem when subbed in the 2nd when loosing or drawing.

    2. Pippo Inzaghi (Clinical Finisher) - gains 50% shot accuracy for first time shots

    3. Alan Shearer, Oliver Giroud (Aerial Menace) - decrease defender jumping/heading by 10% while in attack.

    4. Steven Gerrard (Club legend) - provides a flat 5% boost to all players with over 150 games for your club.

    5. Thiago Alcantara (Press Resistant) - gains +20% passing and +20% dribbling when under high pressure from opponent. (or when 2-3 opponents next to him, whatever)

So obviously these are without much thought or analysis, but I believe if these were properly balanced you could really make the most of different play styles and actually counter some of the meta.

Furthermore, the stats would be transparent and you would know what you are likely to face.

    What do you think?

The community complaining over the game is more than justified.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 06:13 PM PST

I've seen a couple of posts in recent days, where the message behind these posts is basically how we are all to blame for our shortcomings on this game.

Okay before I get accused of being a D9 shitter who can only get Silver 3 on WL, I get G1 every week and I've only gotten E3 once this year plus I'm in D1 with a 2000+ SR. There are so many things that are out of our control on this game and that is why r/fifa tends to moan so much.

Do you blame them? There are so many flaws/irregularities that need to be fixed and that haven't been addressed, I'm not gonna mention EVERY single little problem with the game I'm just gonna mention two things; Defending and Passing.

Defending and Passing is non-existent on this game and I genuinely understand why people get so annoyed, the passing mechanics are not there, over/under hit balls + passes going in a completely different direction.

The defensive AI in this game isn't there, it's obsolete it's not responsive at all and it is desensitised towards anything, the only thing that it's good for is auto blocks. Don't believe me? Pro clubs is your answer/proof, now you're probably thinking what does that have to do with Defensive AI? Everything.

I'm in D2 on pro clubs, me and my mates play as attacking players, and based on my PC experience the defensive AI in this mode is the same as it is in FUT, it doesn't matter what tactics/instructions you apply, the defensive AI doesn't respond or react to anything, hence why every PC game is 6-5 or 5-4; Stay back while attacking on FBs and DMs? Doesn't matter they'll still get caught out, 1 depth drop back? Doesn't matter they'll still get caught out, high depth + high press + aggressive interceptions? Doesn't matter they'll still get caught out, also spamming the bridge on PC is the best tactic because the AI can't respond to it.

The defensive AI only tracks the ball carrier, it doesn't track or monitor the runner or the space in behind or out wide, this is what I've noticed after watching my FUT and PC gameplay back; and this is why most of the time you see those huge gaps in the defence, through balls becoming so easy to pull off or you see your two CBs going for one player.

We should be able to play a game where every single outcome on OUR END (passing/player movement etc) is based on our decisions, but it isn't, whether it's in our favour or not, there have been so many games that I've won which I haven't deserved to win and vice versa.

Player Moments Boateng - Early Reviews

    Posted: 26 Jan 2021 12:09 PM PST

    Very premature post, I know.

But has anyone tried Boateng yet? Cool looking card, and with links I can fit him at CB to play alongside untradable Rio.

How does he compare to Inspector Gadget?

    Cheers.

West Brom are missing 3 players of the top of my head that we got in the summer: Krovinovic, Ivanovic and Conor Gallagher. How do Seongnam FC have there 55 rated midfielder added before all of these players?
