    An Update on P&P Squad r/FIFA Rules

    Due to the recent feedback we have received in the last few days regarding P&P Squads Posts, the r/FIFA Mod team has decided to make some rule changes around them.

    Starting right now, P&P Squad Posts will be treated the same way as Weekend League Recap Posts.

    What this means is that the P&P Squad posts will need to include a small team review including stats, instructions, playstyle, etc in order to be approved.

    If the P&P Squad Post includes only a picture, it will be removed. Same goes for P&P Meme Posts, which will be treated as a shitpost and will result in a temporary ban.

    P&P Squads made straight from Futbin/Futhead/Futwiz or including concept players or players that are currently not in your club, will not be approved.

    With these changes, we are hoping the quality of the P&P Squad posts will increase and therefore, be better accepted than in their current state.

    We will monitor feedback around P&P Squads after today's announcement and we will change again if needed.

    We all know that CR7 and Messi aren't in TOTW because of the extra red picks this weekend. It's just mind blowing to know that EA will do basically anything they can to keep casual players of FUT from getting literally anything. I despise this company. Truly

    We have icons some who are recently retired, some who haven't played in years and even some who are dead.

    We have promo after promo of upgrades where strikers play CB and wingers play fullbacks and 2* WF players get 4* or 5* upgrades.

    Totw was supposed to still mimic real world football and then best performers in the here and now. But alas that no longer even reflects real world football.

    The question is what can be done about this?

    Part of the draw of FUTs of old was that it was based on real world players. Now this game just has so little connection to its actual sport.

    After years of community uproar at the way this game behaves, the content creators calling out the predatory nature of Ultimate being ignored, the sheer disregard of the fifa community and the billions being made by EA, have we finally started to see the cracks appear? Are we seeing the end of an tyranny of EA?

    In the last week we've seen developers in a black market scandal, ridiculous excuses on pros basically needing to "be elite at all aspects" when questioned on why they have to spend money to be the best. Being questioned not only by gaming media but mainstream news organisations. And today with the debug debacle where we've basically seen what they can control on our accounts. Even though people have had to wait months to get coins back or back on the transfer market, the developer mode clearly shows that they can give you access at a click of a button instantly.

    And let's not forget the government's investigations in to loot boxes and the fact packs are basically gambling aimed at children. Or players getting legal advice over their image rights.

    Is this it? Will the ivory tower made from crunch times, PTW mechanics, extortionate prices and terrible game design finally be toppled?

    We'll see.

    Just an FYI, if you haven't done the championship squad foundations like me. Just squeeze 4 Irish players (Conor Hourihane + any of the 3 silvers) into the starting xi and sub a few off if you don't like them.

    Btw Shane Long has been absolutely class for me. Just realized that he transferred to Bournemouth!

    Everyone should be given ONE free icon, and be able to use that icon to upgrade it during the game cycle

    Hear me out.

    When September rolls around we should be given the choice of an icon player pick. Out of the pool of icons 20 are randomly drawn and we select our untradeable icon for the year. To unlock this icon pick we have to play 100 games in any game mode on FUT.

    As seasons progress we are allowed to complete challenges to upgrade it from base, all the way to PIM. However, PIM/mid/top etc would be locked until the versions of those icons are released into packs. Making sure they are in line with the power curve.

    Such challenges could be: 'Score 10 hat-tricks, score 200 goals, play 200 games', these could be lengthy and really detailed. This encourages engagement. Obviously these would be lengthy to match the extreme reward you would gain - but still, ACHIEVABLE!

    For defenders and goalkeepers they could be centred around clean sheets, goalkeepers could require maybe 'achieve 5 assists'.

    Icons are arguably the most exciting part of the game. This would ensure players are all given the opporunity to have at least one and be able to upgrade it through playing. If you don't want to use it that's fine. I also feel this would encourage players to use/try out/fall in love with players they would never be able to.

    What are your thoughts?

    And by that I mean they are either overpriced or the players simply aren t that good.There s no Sbc that screams : "I have to get that one because the stats are too good to pass on, even for the bench" Busquets has a similar card to Marquinhos, probably even worse for 3 months later in the game.

    This is the third consecutive year where the community has been outraged about the price of icons at this time of the year

    On Fifa 19 they refused to drop the PIM SBCs for the end game icons so it was near impossible to try out someone like PIM Eusebio or R9. If I'm not mistaken PIM R9, Ronaldinho, Gullit and a few others were extinct for the longest time even so even if you had the coins you couldn't get them

    On Fifa 20 we didn't even get Icon SBCs and each 3 set of icon swaps were incredibly disappointing so you really had no chance of ever trying out a high end icon aside from the petty 5 game loans that we got in August. Not to mention we, once again, had most of the high end icons being extinct until a few weeks into TOTS. There even was a black market for icons ffs

    And now on Fifa 21 we've got EA employees selling icons for thousands because there's simply no way to get a PIM R9, Gullit or Ronaldinho, it's also considerbly cheaper.. It's been over a month since PIMs were released and I still havent seen a single R9, Gullit, Pele, Dinho or a Maldini on the market

    Each year we've complained for weeks on end and I can't tell how many posts like this I've seen, we've even had some mainstream medias cover this but it's done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. What even is the point, this company will never change

    We really need an option to hold Duplicates

    The number of duplicates we get from the untradebale packs we get the only walkout majority of the players get are GK's (Allison I'm looking at you mate). Atleast gives us the chance to open another pack and get another freaking GK that we can use for an SBC.

    Some might disagree with me but I feel that the first month when fifa drops has to be the best time of Fifa's cycle. The gameplay isn't too bad, everybody is trying different cards, every gold card is worth at least something. It's just so calm I guess

    EA are not being transparent enough with pack odds. Just saying that there is a <1% chance of packing a promo player in a 125k pack means nothing. It could be 0.0000000000000000000001%, which means that anyone opening promo packs are just essentially wasting their FP/coins. They should also be transparent about the likelihood of packing specific players. For example, at the moment there is nothing from EA saying that the odds of packing Dzeko are higher than the odds of packing Mendy, however this is quite clearly true. We need completely transparent odds. The only way we can get these is if the big name streamers/youtubers of Fifa push for it. If a couple of people complain about it on a subreddit, the chances are that EA wont see it. However if the streamers giving them lots and lots of money, along with promoting the game to a big audience like Castro, Nepenthez etc. threaten to stop opening packs and spending money, they could respond.

    As a porto fan this year, i am very disapointed.

    The ONLY ucl road to the final card we got if for a player that doesn't even play for us. In my opinion this is the worst offence

    Pepe isn't scanned properly

    Basically no special cards (no showdown, no objective, only 4 ifs)

    I honestly wish that next year they can at least scan Pepe properly and give him his correct hair style (none)
