    FIFA saved my life

    Posted: 21 Jul 2021 11:07 PM PDT

Little backstory. My first introduction was FIFA was '14 when I was a teenager. Never played football growing up but man did I fall in love with FIFA. The feeling was unlike any other I had experienced growing up, the gameplay, the soundtrack, just an indescribable feeling. I was addicted!

However, being that I wanted to do extremely well in academics, I never picked up another copy of FIFA or any video game for that manner. I decided to solely focus on school and athletics. Fast forward 8 years or so, I find myself in the biggest darkest hole I've ever experienced in life. Underperforming in university and being severely depressed after losing a close friend, I found myself not wanting to continue with life anymore.

One day while at the store, I decided to give gaming another shot and I picked up an Xbox and a copy of FIFA 21. Wow, it was like I could feel happiness once again. I can't put it into words, but the game helped me cope with all the issues I was facing in life. That sense of hope helped me move forward and address all the issues I was facing in life.

The reason I'm writing this post on here is because ever since I've gotten back into the game, I've also gotten back into the overall community wether here or on YouTube. Ever since rejoining, I've realized just how special this community is and just how much it contributes to the joy of FIFA. There's no other sports game community as passionate and driven. There's a reason why some of the biggest YouTubers started or as FIFA content creators, because you guys are just so passionate and supportive.

Saying all this to say, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping in making this game as special and unique as it is!

Top icons should be 99 rated

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 11:27 AM PDT

Just my opinion. It's a bit ridiculous that players like Lukaku and Firmino have 98 cards, while Cruyff's best is 95. I think world's all time greats like Cruyff, Pele and Maradona should have a 99 card and (besides Messi and Ronaldo), players should be capped at like 95.

    Thoughts?

    EA Fixed Atal Finesse Goals

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 06:58 PM PDT

I just scored two finesse goals with 87 Atal in my second match with him, and both counted toward the objective, completing it for me. It's no longer one per match.

Where is the love for Kante from EA?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 10:26 AM PDT

His base card has the 2nd most games played behind base varane this year. The guy was POTM for both semis and final for the UCL. He was the hyped ballon d'or candidate for a while. Really hoping Futties doesent forget about both an obvious fan favorite & a player who actually deserves a juiced card unlike most of the ones getting one these days.

No joke, in the last 2 weeks I've gotten him 4 times from either a PP or preview pack. And what do I find in my preview pack this... another FB Atal. Is this normal?!

Edit2: fodderbreakers Laporte, Recordpisstaker Oscar, and For Fucks Sake Dest again.

Stopping there. Don't do it. Wait for unlimited Neymar's tomorrow

I've Tracked Every Single Draft I've Done For the Past 6 Months and Here Are the Results!

    Posted: 22 Jul 2021 07:32 AM PDT

Before I start, I would like to thank two other redditors for giving me the inspiration to do this. First, u/21otiriK for making this post. And second, u/joshurrrr for making a comment under that post showing his draft tracking progress.

Okay, now, let's get into it. At the point of writing this, I have fully tracked the past 170 online drafts that I have entered in the past 6ish months. All of the packs earned, all of the items sold, and some statistics to figure out how profitable the online draft mode is in the long run.

Here is a link to view the drafts that I have tracked

The first tab of the sheet is the "Templates" tab. When I made an entry, I would copy and paste over the proper template into the "Sold" based on the reward I received. Then, I would fill out the rewards received and players and items packed. The data from the "Sold" tab gets entered into the "Stats" tab. The large table on the left is a breakdown of each entry's profitability. The two tables on the right show how I performed in draft and the profitability at each number of wins. From the data, you can see that losing out in the first round averaged a small loss, one or two wins would more likely result in profit, and if I made the final, I was guaranteed profit. Honestly, I was very surprised that making the final guaranteed profit given all of the horrific rewards it can sometimes give.

Personally, I felt I was very successful with this. I have made close to 2.5 million coins. This on top of Rivals and WL rewards have given me the opportunity to play with this squad.

Finally, a couple tips for playing in draft:

    1. Always pick a formation that you are most comfortable with. Too often early on I was picking some weird formations I felt and I was losing out on more rewards than I needed to.

    2. Try to make your defense as good as possible. Having bad defenders will kill you most of the time because most teams will have good, fast attackers.

    3. Have fun! At the end of the day, it's just a game. Pick players that you want to use and have fun with them.

Here is a link to my draft tracker for you to use. All you have to do is make a copy of it and you are good to go. I figure at this point in the cycle it might be a little late to start doing this but you can certainly save it for FIFA 22. I will be posting this again at the beginning of FIFA 22 just in case some of you forget about it. And with that, I'm out. Thanks for reading!
